Yeah, genuinely reckon this'll end up the first design that is entirely canned.

When the Eagles brought back the wings (?) their main sponsor went from SGIO to 'sgi.' it was just a shit rebrand because it didn't look like a brand transitioning or changing, but an entirely different entity. and SGIO were very big in Western Australia. at the time I posted on this forum saying you should buy one because it'll get recalled and ultimately it did. you could just tell it wouldn't work.

This'll be another case. the feedback has been universally panned. even people who don't care about jumpers ****ing hate this whole thing.

It's genuinely one of the shittest pieces of... whatever ever. it is so ****ing bad. they have completely ****ing butchered everything.

Would love to see the home design with the pale yellow outline around the logo and yellow waves. That has to be the starting point for what they were going for.

This is fantastic man. Fire wave. I don't think I've seen this concept before. And it marries well to the logo which it wouldn't have to the old one.

Since they mentioned Liverpool they should play around with the guernesy design every year like the soccer clubs do. One advantage that Gold Coast and GWS have is that they’re non-traditional teams located in non-traditional states. They don’t have to be shackled to the past so if anyone can throw caution to the wind here it’s them.

I’ve said it before but they should start each new season with a fresh kit and enjoy the attention both good and bad (and probably an increase in merch dollars too).

The colours and design look like a 1970s TV station logo. Nice in a nostalgic sort of way, but not fit for purpose imo.

If the Suns had more fans this design wouldn't have made it past the control. As it is, it could last up to 2 years before being "revamped"

Someone had asked whether any logo had received a lot of praise on here immediately after being released, and I don’t think anyone brought up the fact that Melbourne’s was pretty universally loved at that time. They were coming from a garbage and incredibly cluttered logo so low bar to clear, but it’s arguably the best logo in the league. Most would’ve agreed that North was an upgrade too, and I think Port and Sydney were slightly towards a positive response which has only really grown since then. Don’t think any club copped the response Adelaide and especially Gold Coast have had as of recent.

I quite like our (Melbourne) logo but I wouldn’t say it’s anywhere close to being the best in the league. However the bar was low as you mentioned. But I’ve never seen universal love for it.

I think North was a significant downgrade. I hate that logo. I’ve seen mostly hate for it.

I think whilst the Port logo is pretty inoffensive it was a downgrade from the old one and they could’ve done so much better. But I understand why they made the change.


The new Swans logo is still probably the only change in my lifetime I haven’t gotten used to. It’s so similar to the old one and was so unnecessary. It still looks so dumb to me. The Swan definitely got hate.

From someone being in Qld yesterday and today for the launch, the fanbase is on board and the general consensus by suns members who I have spoken to at the event is they like it. It may not be something that you love straight away but you do warm to it. We have no need to please opposition supporters . As long as the players are behind it (they were heavily consulted) and the fans are onboard that is all that matters

Feels about 50/50 from Suns supporters having just read the thread on their board. That said, I'm sure the majority couldn't care if they were wearing pink tutus so long as they make finals. So the priorities are different. Of course fans are going to be more receptive than oppo supporters.

You're right there. Yeah I personally hate the guernsey and will not buy one, I just can't as much as I do support them but it's just awful. But I can live with it if they just make finals.
