news: Tiger Coughlan suffers minor knee setback

Coughlan is the ONLY Richmond player I would give this number of chances to. I will never forget his efforts when we were at our lowest ebb. He's my favourite player of any club.

and another thing . . . I forgot to write that I had this same operation about three years ago. I would have been completely recovered within 3-4 weeks of the operation and I was 40 years of age, not a 27-year old in peak condition. The miniscus is not structural. It's basically a bit of cartilage rubbing between the bones joint. I know it doesn't sound good but it is not very serious at all.

He could play in the NAB Cup game vs Fremantle with some jabs here and there, it's not serious at all. People are just getting upset because he gets back and looks good then another injury pops up. We just want to see him on the park so he can live up to that potential thats been wasted through so many injuries.

Damaged my miniscus years ago and never underwent any surgery and played footy for another 10 years afterwards. If that is what his current problem is then I don't see how it would be the end of his career. What I would be worried about is how his knee might be in the years after his career is over. Even with all the modern medicine I know plenty of ex footballers who have trouble just getting out of bed because of shot knees and none of them underwent multiple knee recos.

I've had 2 knee recos and I'm still only 18, cheers for that comment! :(
On a positive note I never did any of the suggested exercises after the operations because I'm a lazy bastard and I really didn't lose too much speed, kicking power or anything like that and also he would be much fitter then me. Then again I didn't have any hamstring or OP problems.

hopefully he does get back he was a gun.are rance and nahas as good as you guys are talking them up to be? will rance play 1's this year?

oh shit fellas some random came across cogs MRI somehow and had a look because he knows what hes doing and apparently his career is over, even tho terry just 2 nights ago said he will be running in a week and back in 3 weeks. this is shocking news...
someones obviously looking for a story:rolleyes:

people never learn tigertroy is an attention seeker, so why beleive him when he has nothing to back up what he said

Isn't he the one that came up with the thread looking for Richmond merchandise because he tricked his Grandma who has a mental illness into converting from the Bulldogs to the Tigers for some extra memberships for him and his friends?

yep i think saying this shit get him off

mcmanus and schwarze are two players that came back successfully from consecutive knees, both had other injuries on top of that and got through them ok....... there are other players who have been through even more traumatic injuries than a knee reconstruction and have managed to get back after two years off, one of them being nathan brown, matt maguire looked good tonight as well, i know arm injuries are different to legs but how many times has richo broken his arm? joel smith had a knee injury that took him two years to get back from and he ended up as a multiple all australian..... i mean coughlan is such a gun that if he gets back to his best he is well worth the time, my point being that there are players who cop loads of injuries and then get back to somewhere near their best, and if you include richo, they get better... be patient, he's a champion.... all the best for the weekend guys, you should belt us, im hoping that the doctors arent required and that will be a win in my books :thumbsu:
