I got a new Sony Xperia Z2 phone the other day and downloaded the gamepass app from the Google store. Everything works ok but when I play a video, even streaming the live NFL Network the video seems to be playing at double speed. I can't find any settings that might be affecting this has anyone run into this before?
I also just upgraded my plan to the Sony Xperia Z2, but have yet to test gamepass on it. Will do now and let you know....

Demonic Ascent

lol yep. the video runs twice as fast, but so does the audio.

will look for solution and let you know

I had a look on the gamepass website and Sony phones aren't listed as supported though that doesn't mean they're not - could be they haven't upgraded it to work.with the latest Android upgrade? I think it's up to 4.4 but it only says it supports up to 4.2?

Edit - that might be it - the support page says

"Supported Android Versions

2.2.x
2.3.x
4.0.x
4.2.x"

And my phone days it's 4.4.2 - I'm guessing they'll upgrade before the season starts.

Went to NFL Mobile and NFL.com and played some videos, the speed is fine.

I think it's GamePass itself, and there's sure to be an UPDATE on google play before the HOF game approaches. Probably an error occurring for many mobile users, and will have been reported to them.

#EDIT --- android version 4.4.2 KitKat. Update to support that will surely come soon.

Is anyone experiencing crap playback from gamepass at all? Just renewed my sub for the year and wanted to watch last years wildcard SF v Ind game and all I can get is the lowest setting (400).
Have tried running on different days, different games, different computers, updated video driver but no good.

Last year on the same computer with the same net connection it was fine, no problem. normal streaming of Youtube, online gaming etc is normal.

?????

Hmmm.

I haven't turned GP on for the last 2 weeks or so, but just flicked it on to check for you. I had the same problem - it started winding up, but only got to 1200kps before it started buffering, and so it went back down to 400kps.

No idea why, but when I'm running a pretty reliable 25 Mb/s fibre connection, I'm usually pretty confident that any problems come from their end.

That said, I'm going to upgrade my connection before the coming season I think - I'm going to need more d/l anyway, so will go to 100 Mb/s. I'm going to spew if GP keeps running like this!

Have just checked again, its working Yay !!

Difference has been I was trying 8pm - 10pm night Thur/Fri/Sat and I have just tried it now 9am Sun and it works ?

Will try again tonight, if it fails I'll conclude that the problem lays with all the good Church lovin people hogging the bandwidth seeing they are all at Church at the moment ! lol

I just tried it on my laptop and both NFL Network and last years games are streaming fine at 4500kbps so not sure what the issue is? I had issues last year and figured out the wireless baby monitor was interfering with the wifi, is there anything that might be interfering with your connection? Have you tried hardwiring your PC to the modem with an ethernet cable and seeing if that works?

EDIT: Just saw your post above. Who is your provider? If its a cheapish ADSL2+ there could be peak time issues.

Optus cable Melb metro. PC is hardwired to router.

Watching a game now at 4500 stream, no hassles. strange. hopefully no more problems. will check tomorrow night as well.

EDIT : Was watching about an 2 hours ago @ 4500, now same problem, has gone back to 400 @ 5:15pm.

Have checked household, nothing is using the cable but me.

This will give me the shits if its like this from late arvo onwards.

I've been watching for the last couple of hours on 4500kps no problems.

Perhaps that doesn't help given the times you're having problems - but after giving you an update on my picture quality on Saturday night, I thought it was worth updating you again.

Yeah just tried mine 8:00am, 4500 no problem. Looks like it maybe a traffic issue from arvo onwards. Will monitor it for a while.

You may want to contact Optus because you shouldn't be having any issues with that set-up, they could be throttling your network/certain access during peak times, may be worth doing a speed test to check your connection as well.

4:45 and shit again. :(

Will do some speed tests and log results for a while. Anyone know which city in the states the stream may be coming from?
Speedtest from optus melb server showing just under 19Mbps. Trying a server on the west coast US (Buffalo N.Y) 6.27Mbps

Will start logging it all :(

thanks Nobby, will set server to NYC for testing.
Deck, have tried the manual overide before. Currently test streaming 1600, picture is ok, but very choppy playback i.e lots of 'buffering', sound starting before video etc.

Have you unticked the best available box as I had this trouble the other week as it would revert to a slower speed always. After I unchecked the box it played at the full speed I selected manually no problems.

Noticed this myself. Tends to really err on the lower side of the quality.

Just paid for 2014, new gamepass is kick arse...i love the new set up for archived games and shows. Didnt see anything about hard knocks thou

I thought that was in last seasons package?

Bomber, could you let me know what your bit rate is like in the arvo 5pm onwards? Also what provider you are with, I'm having trouble with my Optus cable streaming in the arvo at 4500, it just doesnt get there.

If it helps, i'm on ADSL2+ in Canberra, it's currently 5:50pm, and Gamepass is currently running nice and smooth for me at 4500kbps.

NFC can't play AFC at that stage of the playoffs.
