sparkyblue - I know this isn't your area of responsibility or expertise, but are you hearing about these issues anywhere else?

How crazy is it that, in this tiny little microcosm of NFL fans here in Australia, we've got 2 people who wanted to be autorenewed who weren't, and 1 person who didn't want to be autorenewed who was.

The NFL is surely one of the biggest, richest sporting organisations in the world. How can they employ such incompetent a) computer systems or b) customer service operators that this happens?

Will look into it for you and relay the feedback to our Subscription Product Director (my office is about 10 metres from his). I know that Autorenews are being rolled out in phases rather than all being processed at once and the last were scheduled for processing yesterday according to the dates I have. We use an outsource provider for GamePass International so I'll get him to find out if there were any delays in processing. If you guys want to PM me your details (i.e. the email address you registered), I can get specific cases looked at.

I get it (i.e. the frustration) and I was in the Ops centre last night watching the social media feedback come in - both good and bad. Our executives were doing the same. The NFL's digital operations are in the process of a major overhaul with a complete change in management this season (myself included) so we're working on it. It's a complex organisation and we need to improve on a number of fronts.

Hit me up with a PM if there's specific problems you want addressed and I can make sure these get to the right folks. Be as specific as possible if you're having issues as it helps us to recreate issues and do proper root/cause analysis. I'm getting more involved in gameday digital operations so can relay stuff direct to those best able to fix things.

Thanks guys.

So did anyone watch last night's (yesterday morning's) games? Let me know if there were any issues (subscription problems aside).

Apple TV should be live next week - was supposed to be yesterday but there's delays @ Apple. Other TV platforms (Xbox, PS4) on the way in the next 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for that man - I sent them an email Thursday evening Australian time, so if I haven't heard anything when I get up on Saturday I'll send you a PM to look into next week.

If they're going to process autorenewals in batches, they need to be bloody done before the pre-season games start!

With that said... despite having an email here that says autorenew was turned back on, I think that's my issue - the pinhead I was speaking to just didn't do it.

No prob - just spoke to the Subs Director. We just need a GP username/email and we can look into it for you.

Watched the Jets game on PC. The quality was consistantly good and had no issues or lag. If the apps can deliver the same it will be excellent value.

Glad to hear it. We had some issues with the US Domestic market with the Android phone app which should be resolved today, but the International stuff looks to have gone ok.

There's always a few teething problems to sort out post-launch but it's our pre-season in the digital space too. It's hard to simulate the millions of variables involved in a live broadcast across multiple digital platforms until you're actually live.

I also saw the Apple TV streaming fine on our beta build yesterday and watched some NFL Now so that should be cool once Apple release it in the next few days.

Why the hell is gamepasd showing me the falcons game through Titans tv?
Preseason often gives you certain teams feeds as they are not nationally televised. In this case the Titans feed.

I'll look into that for you. I know for US Domestic, we stream out at up to 5000k but the international streams are delivered via an outsourced service provider (the same one as the NBA) so I'll check what the current max bitrate is. I know we're still working out some quirks with the Android app itself, so we may have a fix one the way already if it's a client-side problem.

I've found that when you cast to a tv you get a better bitrate than what the app has listed. Although the apps max is 1200 I believe it is running a lot higher through the chromecast. Thanks for the help.

Thanks man - I didn't hear back by the time you guys closed up on Friday, so I'm going to send you a PM...

... just as soon as I figure out how.

I've never been able to figure it out on this version of BF - only how to send publicly viewable conversations :(

Watched yesterdays games, only issue was the Audio on NFLn when in the studio was much louder then when showing the game or any of the games outside of NFLn.

Also anychance we can get the Preseason Redzone stuff? Or on PC return the forward 10sec button for skipping ads when on a slight delay it only has the back 10 sec button.

Good news on the PS4 app hope its not broken when it arrives cant wait to use it, and the PS4 is getting an official media remote in October so that makes it better.

Afew years ago it let you pick between the 2 feeds but the last 2-3 years its picked one. Yesterday the Packers/Pats game had Pats feed on NFLn and Packer feed for the Games section. It lookes like the Falcons feed is on NFLn.

Also the ads are only blacked out with the generic title card in pre-season because of the local ads. regular season games show the ads

That makes me happy :D

How good is it having an NFL insider on here? Awesome, thanks from everyone on your patience and feedback sparky , great stuff.

Click on his name, a pop-up window appears, click the link called START A CONVERSATION.

Or

Mouse-over the INBOX link at the top of a bigfooty page, click the START NEW CONVERSATION link at the bottom right of the drop-down, then start typing his name into the recipient box and BF will auto-suggest names, you pick the right one, or just finish typying his name.

Suggestion....tho not life-or-death....

When you click on the STATS option, it would be nice if you could click on players names and get a little pop up telling you their full names, height, weight, position, college, and quick career stats or something. Such that it doesnt interrupt the stream of the game either.

Exactly right - the individual teams sign independent TV rights deals for pre-season to increase their revenue which means you can get some random outcomes like this.

Will there be a SmartTV app sparkyblue?

Not for the start of the season. We had some Android TV apps last year but hardly anyone watched them so we prioritized those platforms with the greatest amount of viewers or potential viewers (e.g. PS4). We may look at this again during the season though but the content may be limited to things like NFL Network or the new NFL Now Live TV stream for US customers, and hopefully GamePass international as well for you guys.

One huge factor that influences what platforms we build products for, is that GamePass in the US doesn't show live games during the regular season. The TV rights still drive almost everything we can and cannot do at NFL Digital (where I work). The networks want exclusive content and don't want anyone to watch NFL games on anything other than a TV or that networks digital platforms. Just getting a deal with Verizon to show live games on mobile for their customers was a pretty big deal ($$$$$). When the next TV & Digital Rights deal is up a lot could change and free us up to show games and build apps on a lot of different platforms which will also bleed through to what we can offer International customers too.

Yep - that's currently in our backlog for some platforms. We have a whole lot of new stats offerings (next-gen) in the pipeline and a lot will happen in that space over this season and next. Player tracking and other cool stuff.
