Stewy is a club legend at Deer Park, playing at Wallan now after a short stint with East Keilor. His time of running around in divison 1 is over. Stewy is still ripping the RDFL apart, but it's a big jump to NFNL Division 1.

Heidelberg just need to promote their juniors into seniors - this is there only negative.

I don’t really agree with this.

I’d rather see the blokes who represented the club week in week out play than a bunch of VFL ring ins.

IMO 5 games and no more than 50% of the season in the VFL

The U19 have a similar rule with the Knights. Must play 3 club games but no more than 12 Knights game to play NFNL finals.

No not easily at all. Not in the ruck anyway. Maybe as a key forward. He left east Keilor because his body was starting to break down. He’s now playing in a horrible competition. He will never go back to North

Most leagues/sports you'd find that if you've played significant number of games at a higher level you become ineligible for finals in the lower grade - has always struck me as odd in local mens footy the way VFL and local league qualification works

100% he could play top division but not rucking every quarter, stay at home FF and he gives a backman a decent headache.

Stewart’s name came up every year but the amount he was getting at Deer Park, North would not match. They could have but did not take any further as the coin was seriously out of this world.

Stewart’s name came up every year but the amount he was getting at Deer Park, North would not match. They could have but did not take any further as the coin was seriously out of this world.

Fair call as need to apply discipline on/off field where at the time at DP he would have been on North of 45k per year. Some clubs pay it but doesn't necessarily get the result desired. In this case it did & he performed but at a much lesser level. Was a key member of Doggies last D1 flag & could have been a fairytale ending.
