I think it's horses for courses, Bongetti won a flag with Hyde as coach, so there is obviously a good relationship there and could be very benefical given Hyde's standing and reputation as one of the better operators in the game. If I was Bongetti working with your former premiership coach who has intimate knowlege of the playing group, I'd be more than happy.

I don’t doubt Bongo is happy with the arrangement. But what about the other prospective coaches who are “being interviewed this week”

I can understand a little bit that some don't wanna play a lower division but it's a shame when ego trumps supporting the club

Happens with every club who gets demoted - they'll also get quite a few in smelling a big chance to be in a top 4 side, premiers.

Who’s done this before.

I don’t doubt he’ll be a good mentor to Bongo and in this case it’ll work well. But any other coach with no affiliation to Hyde couldn’t possibly be happy about that arrangement.

Wasn’t this the arrangement at greensborough. Heard he undermined the whole process there.

if your a playing coach you have to have good people that you trust on the side lines as the game is too fast now for a playing coach to take it all in and play well at the same time .I really think the days of a playing coach in the higher divs is gone forever

I don't know for sure but I would expect so with bonagetti being a new coach you would want a good assistant on the side lines who's got your back 100%

Because he doesn’t want to be the head coach, and wants to take a step back. Big difference from being the senior coach and and assistant helping out.

Anyways I see it’s officiall. If Bongetti brings a couple of quality players they’ll be hard to stop.

It’s their 3rd tier however it’s written.

So yes he left for an employment opportunity not because NP are now in second division lol.
