Nicest/Rudest Richmond Players

I don't rate Nathan Brown ever since I heard him on the Gospel one day "say he can't stand supporters coming up to him" he has nothing to say to them really, and he wished they would leave him alone.

I can understand if people come up pissed but other than that, he should show more respect to the people that help pay his high wages.

This is an interesting point actually. I tend to agree with Browny. For example one day b4 the game i saw some bloke following Richo and J.Bowden and i personally thought that he was annoying and my personal belief is give the guys space. I have seen several players out just dont talk to em because i dont really have much to say to em if it isnt football related and they get that all day every day for eg. saw Pat Bowden at the TAB wasting all his money the other day (He is very skinny and now understand why he was a soft player) but i didnt feel obliged to go up and annoy him.

On the other hand i believe if it is at a bar, club, function or supporter day all players should have to be approachable and talk to whoever wishes to speak with them but they dont deserve to be chased down by supporters coming up to them.

The year Terry Wallace played for us 1987, He worked for Sky Channel and the local hooked up to it so he came to the opening, my boss said get down here,so I did and got introduced and had about 6 pots with him , Great guy, still don't know how he and his mate managed to drive back too Melbourne

Tambling and Jake King have been the nicest and Gus was nice aswell.

As for former players i havent met many but i spoke to Tim Fleming after the Sheedy farewell game and he was nice and Daffy was always good to me.

Scotty Turner invited me into the rooms when I was a child which was prety cool of him

One of my mates saw Richo, Raines, Simmonds and Tivendale at Metro. He said Raines was arrogant and made his gf cry. He also said Richo was smokingbut putting his finger to his lips to say sshoosh.
He said Tivs was a nice guy though

ur mate obviously cant keep a secret lol

I met Stuey in slightly surreal circumstances (for both of us) on 19th October 1996 - at the auction where I bought his house from him. Very nice guy and his wife Justine was also lovely.

I presume that he had Daff live with him for a while as we kept receiving posted 'junk mail' for Nick for several years - usually fancy arsed menswear stuff that would make you feel at home in Oxford Street and precious few other places.

When I was house hunting I viewed David Bourke's house in Fairfield. Couldn't afford it anyway in the end but would've always felt a bit "unfulfilled".

Have met Chaffey out a few times. Always blind but usually ok for a chat.
Richo's always great. Remember chatting with him back in his first or second year, we're pretty similar ages. We were both waiting for girlfriends outside a clothes shop at Knox City. Remember thinking how big he was and how awkward he looked in a suit. Had a good chat about footy though, mine and his. He actually asked me more about where I played than I asked him about the Tigers.

AR hanging out with the oldies:D Surpised Tezza and GM weren't there also:eek:

have met Richo a few times, cant speak highley enough of the bloke..absolute Champ.

Also David Rodan is a great bloke to talk to, same with Tucky.
Joel is very down to earth guy.

A friend of mine is good friends with dean polo and i met him once while hanging with her and he seemed pretty nice.

agree with Zantuk....he was a toss!

Simmo was pretty good and even had a little chat to browny at a practice match they played in Morwell a few years ago and he was pretty nice....funny bloke, had some nice jokes to tell.

Scotty Turner is a legend of a bloke.
Nathan Bower and Brendan Gale were both really nice guys and so was Hoggy and John Howat is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. Michael Pickering is the other one who I have met who was a really good bloke.
Stevan Jackson and Nick Daffy are the two that I have met who's talent could never measure up to their ego's.

Best - Micheal Pickering

Replied to all my letters as a 10 year old and used to meet me after training and take me into the rooms and take me to chat to all the players. Just an absolute legend. I would like to know if the current players are this good to young supporters.

Worst - Tony Free

It is making me feel ill reading that some people are listing this bloke as a favourite. Absolute pig of a man (is that alright Khan)

Of the players i talk to Foley and Tucky have been the nicest. I get along well with Axe and will hopefully catch up with him at Christmas training if we run it. Harts asked me if my girlfriend does 3sums lol. He is a joker but a nice guy. Patto was nice but shy. Cogs is nice as is Bling. Lids, Cleve, Richo, Browny ect arnt the easiest to talk too. Cass is ok.

Great to hear Recrods. I have mentioned it before, but Mic was a friend of the family, and I also played junior footy with him. Lost contact with him for years and then ran into him the one and only time I was in the Tigers Social Club one drunk Fri night way back in about '84. (the drunk one being me, not Mic;)) Had a good chat to him.

Played HBF alot in juniors and without starring, was always in the best of course. Quiet kid but was always friendly. Also was a very good tennis player. Doesn't surprise me he was as you describe.

apart from the obvious RICHO we all know hes a top bloke came down to roxburgh footy club once to take the boys for a few drills, foley and peterson made time to chat before training earlier this year good blokes, met mcmahon at the races top bloke, wayne campbell was good was a bit drunk haha he was with jason cripps wot a D..khead he is

So?

- Personally a mate of mine played Poker a bit with some Richmond guys. He said Troy Simmonds and Nathan Brown were fair shit blokes but maybe thats just because they have higher profiles. He said Shane Tuck was a top bloke and Greg Tivendale was a pretty nice guy.

- I've met Cleve Hughes, Luke McGuane and Jack Riewoldt at the Hawthorne before. Luke and Jack were okay but Jack is arrogant as f**k, Cleve was a bit of a dick

- I spoke to Pettifer and Brett Deledio after training once and Petts seemed like a good guy, Deledio was pretty shy and introverted

That is spot on on,I met him and cogs at southland a few years ago.Cogs is very talkative and friendly whereas lids seems very shy and stand offish.
