So because a guy is built bigger and is stronger he is better? The meatheadedness is still alive and well amongst AFL followers.
He is bigger and he is stronger and for all intents and purposes will most likely be better. It’s and opinion so stop crying and appreciate the gun player you have.

The stand rule has been pretty good for mids in making them look better. Much easier to generate score involvements when you can run around the mark. (Note, this is not a hit on Daicos, more just saying that when comparing to previous generations you need to account for this).

Imagine if Buckley was able to run an extra ten metres before feeling pressure everytime?

Only took him 11 rounds to get back to his usual spot of 2nd best.

Good thing we've got players like Bont and Heeney to look to as the best player in the comp while Nick trails behind.
Nice that you're now accepting he's performing as the 2nd best player in the comp as a 21 year old, after having already performed as the 2nd best player in the comp as a 20 year old.

Who was the last player to perform at that level, at that age?

Sam Walsh 2021 in his third year would probably be the closest comparison.

Unfortunately for Walshy he was playing in a far worse side and was then subsequently struck down with injuries each pre season after that as his team started coming good.

Who is coming second for the Pies in this award ? Curious

So......

Sam Walsh in his third season finished:
2nd in the AFLPA MVP
4th in the Brownlow
6th in the AFLCA Coaches Award

(and hasn't been anywhere near any of those awards in any of his other seasons)

Is the closest comparison to Daicos, who in his second season finished (despite missing the last three games):
2nd in the AFLPA MVP
3rd in the Brownlow
3rd in the AFLCA Coaches Award

And on track for a similar finish in his third season.

Are you sure you can't find someone who is closer to Daicos?

Or is Daicos just THAT GOOD?

Why not? Doesn’t he refer to himself as Nicky on his socials?
Pies fans were furious about it, said it was sexist bullying

Sam Walsh has never been a top 20 player in the comp. He very well may get there, I'd say he has a great chance to be top 10 in the future, but he hasn't been there yet. Though I do agree he has been unlucky with his health.

Sam Walsh was a top 5-10 player in 2021. 2nd in MVP, 4th in Brownlow, 6th in Coaches votes. Pretty much indisputable.

Injuries have stopped him returning to that form consistently but when he's been healthy he's consistently one of the best performers across the competition.

Currently sitting 14th in the AFL coaches award despite missing 5 games as well.
