Crazy good right?

Watched him playing for Blues 2nds & he looked pretty good - Nothing like what he’s bringing now.

Amazing to watch - like Martin at his best.

If only young Nick had his talent ;)

Daics gave him a bath 2 weeks ago

Not sure that will ever happen again though

Ridiculous beast of nature

Hard to compare the two really.

Both are great talents.

Interesting to see if there’s an upside to either , how can they get better?

Let me start with Nick!

1. Take a contested mark
2. Get a hit out

👍🏼

Ok I'll follow with Reid:

1. Turn water into wine
2. Cure cancer

Utter failure if he hasn't taken a contested mark. All those clearances mean nothing.

Just on Champion Data, they keep having the rewrite the algorithm because Collingwood breaks it.

I saw the clip of Hoynie with Kane Cornes and the uncomfortable look on both their faces when he trotted out that Daicos was number 21 in ratings but they never mentioned the other 20. He should name the better players, was it Harvey Harrison? De Goey? Mason Cox? Was it the entire Crows starting 18 plus IQ and Maynard?

I recall in the Carlton game Weitering was rated very lowly, because he only had 8 or 9 touches and a few spoils. The bloke was a very real presence, you could see the Pies mids changing direction to avoid him, and his bodying in the packs (vigorous but only borderline illegal, and well perpetrated) was a problem for us. I had him in Carlton's best as he materially affected the game but he was not rated.

Sometimes I feel like the maths boys get worked up over the numbers without really understanding the game. No expert myself but Daicos 21st vs the Crows? Not credible.
21st?

It was actually 25th.

The coaches, who unanimously voted him BOG, clearly have NFI.

Tonight....

Most Centre Clearances
Most Clearances
Most Score Involvements
Most CONTESTED POSSESSIONS (+ 6 on next highest and +8 on Freo's highest)

.... On ground.

And:

2nd most i50s
3rd highest meters gained (Collingwood'highest)

Also, during his couple of mins out of the centre bounces in the second quarter, Freo kicked 3 goals.

All of which translates into another 3 vote performance.

Does that now make it 4 in a row?

He did do it last year as well, so why not?

I wonder how many players in the history of the game have racked up four consecutive 3 vote games, multiple times in their career?

And how many times is Nick going to do it?
Only thing he got wrong was just barely missing those two shots at goal, either of which would've been a knife for Freo.

It is nit picking...but he probably could've sealed the result.

Pretty significant given he was against Serong.

Wouldn't surprise me if Clark and Serong get the votes anyway just because.

But yeah, he was excellent.

To have more contested possessions than anyone on the ground by a LONG way is a decent effort.

The "he gets no tough ball" crowd have been very quiet recently.

That could be it....or

The fact Daicos is in a different stratosphere to Walsh as a player.

By my count, Daicos has been his team's best player 7 times so far this season.

Walsh on the other hand?

But this thread isn't a direct comparison to any one player, surely you penned it as a comparison to the genuine greats of the game

Or are your responses based on who a poster supports and your standard rebuttal is, better than player X of your club

Entertaining little thread though
