Money for jam. Peter (still the #1 Pies player I’ve ever witnessed in the flesh) got 99 goals in a year playing predominantly in the midfield. Nick only has to get 1 more goal to beat him.

Circle work.
97 goals in 1990 playing predominantly as a forward. Most goals ever by a non FF or KPF.
Leigh Mathews next with 89 goals.

Soz. 97, I was 2 out. Correctamundo.

Lethal Leigh was unbelievable too. I remember a mate telling me about a party he was at, and Nick Cave (of all people) turned up and cracked on to Leigh’s misso. Leigh came in to the kitchen, and without saying a word knocked him out cold.

i've come for some therapy after the ginni matter.... nick is greatest player that I've ever seen except for the greatest player that i've ever seen which was his father. ok i feel better now....
Nick has plenty of time to try and measure up to his dad.
He's off to a flier.

Peter had all the tricks. Yet to see Nick kick a massive torpedoe although I have a feeling Nick will surpass his dad.
A long way to go for him.
Pray 🙏 the injury gods are good to him.

Got some work to do to....

Career highlights

Am surprised he was only 3 times all-aus.

Buddy is up to 8 times, and pendles 6 x all-aus and 5 x copelands.

Lol all good. He didn't play much midfield time. Mathews master-stroke was Peter in a pocket and Gavin Brown at FF. Brown 49 goals and Daics 97.
Hence why Brian Taylor struggles to get excited when Collingwood is doing well , to this day he believes Matthews robbed him of been a premiership player , one thing about Lethal , he didn’t play favourites nor named players who were out of form .

Another Mathews master-stroke. Put the best wingman(Brown) at FF and drop Taylor. We all thought he'd lost the plot.
I loved BT bigtime.

He was the best wingman. Getting moved to full forward cost him a Brownlow. But I'm sure it was worth it for a Premiership.
Never seen anything much like Brown on the wing. Perhaps only Peter Matera who had it all was better.
Keith Greig, Robbie Flower and Wayne Schimmelbusch as well.
Brown was a toughnut that outmarked everyone. Tougher than all the last blokes mentioned.
Back in the day Ricky Barham was a cracker.

i see a long career ahead of Nick, followed post-career with being cruciified on a cross. However, the good news is that he will arise from the dead and ascend into heaven and look down upon us and grant us regular premierships

Too bad Gav's two boys weren't chips off the old block, unlike the Daicos boys & Peter's boy Darcy.

Only got 97, and played almost entirely in the forward pocket. Which is still exceptional, but not quite as exceptional as your scenario.

Quietly confident that Nick will end his career with more accolades than his father. Won’t get the goal kicking ones though, but a few Charlie’s should make up for that.
