I'm 33 and honestly, I've never been as high on a player at that age as I am on Daicos. Pendlebury was the other one I was high on at this age.

I hope a lot of players past, present & future would become stars, but with Daicos it feels less like hope and more like know.

He's having a HUGE first year after missing so much footy due to Covid. Looking at his stats he's had a great year in the midfield, oh wait a minute... he hasn't been in the midfield yet! When this guy's a full time mid, with a couple extra years of filling out and going through that natural body evolution; sky is legitimately the limit. Not very often does it feel like you truly have a potential all-time great.

With all the grumbling that happens over Grundy’s contract; to think we have the presumptive Rising Star under contract for four years already is the best list management decision we ever made! The gift that keeps on giving.

Was he captain of his junior teams? Or is it just because he's a good player?
He was captain of the Chargers last year. Don’t know about other teams, but there have been many reports this year that his on field and training leadership for a first year player has been off the charts. You can see him on ground directing traffic like a 150 gamer.

He’s not just a good player, he screams future captain.

I already trust him the most of perhaps any user on our entire team. His decision-making is excellent.
I agree He has the ability to weight his kicks so they reach a teammate in between opponents with zero risk of an interception or being crunched because it hung in the air a fraction too long. His vision is exquisite.

He's played half a season and already found a gear. Gone up a level. That happens for most players in their third year. Sometimes, for freaks, like Clarry Oliver, in their second. It's happened for Daicos halfway through his first season. This kind of growth is nuts. Most first-years who've shown something in the early part of the season are running out of gas about now, Nick is elevating himself. It's crazy.

He's an unprecedented precocious talent and he's going to be something very, very special

Just as good, but may have been a backhand compliment was Eddie Betts' pregame comment.

"He's the greatest first year player in the history of the game"

Similar theme;

I was lucky enough to see Peter play and both of the boys are just so smart with their disposal and they actually understand how to 'weight' a kick to a target.
I still don't know why Peter is not down at the club as a kicking coach in the field and at goal.
Neither of them will have the torpedo that Dad had - but they are excellent.
Nick really is starting to remind of a better and faster Chris Judd - an accumulator but with better disposal.
Would not be surprised to see Nick in the leadership group in 2024 and captaincy awaits.
