god i love him lol
had some massive contests
this one , the prelim final tackle on rooke. one of the hardest fairest tackles ive seen
also last year against J Brown when the lions played the pies at the G, maxwell and brown both went for the ball. i think they injured each other in that contest.

He broke his leg in that incident and all the commentators could do is go on about how brave Brown was to get up after such a hit. Maxwell was half his size and broke his leg and still got up.
The commentators are slowly waking up to how brave and hard this guy is. You wont see them make that mistake again.
So what do people think?? Next Collingwood captain? Nick Maxwell
He is definitely an on-field leader in both voice and action. Time will tell whether he is selected to be captain.

It wouldn't surprise me if he was made captain and I wouldn't have a problem with it.
By no means the best player in our side but i reckon in the first 4 or 5 picked each week. he is crucial to us and adds a bit of bite and venom.
dont think he will be announced skipper, but id be happy for him to be vice behind burnsy! if i were to be proven wrong i would be happy none the less. he epitomises what the black and white guernsey means and will forever remain a collingwood player. dont know why some people threw his name around in a judd deal?????

What do you expect - he is a product of St Joseph's Geelong, the same school that has produced Matty Scarlett, Jimmy Bartel, Cameron Ling, and plenty more.

Not really. Obviously wasn't good enough back in the days if a couple particular AFL clubs didn't even give him an opportunity

He is a good player but it is premature to talk about him being captain.
I think it should go to Scott Burns, with Ben Johnson as is Vice Captain.

That isnt true at all.
I have heard him talk at a function explaining tactics and the reasons why we perfromed well in a game and the reasons for why we lost v Adelaide in R22 this year.
This guy is really switched on in the understanding of tactics and this is one area where he excels over most of the others.
I was talking more public image of the club etc, he isn't exactly the most eloquent of speakers if you get me? his public speaking in general is fairly poor from what I have seen.

The best thing about Maxy is he has lifted the entire teams intensity in regards to physical contact, IMO we tackle and hit harder than our weight division thanks to him

Nah, mad dog just doesn't like Pies pretty standard stuff really. Although he may very well not actually 'prefer' women. He is from Adelaide you know, Don Dunstan and all that.

Brown didn't play for the rest of the year after that game.
Poor Browny couldn't handle being thumped by Nick.
