Ok, I know this title is a little random, but my room mate and I were having a debate.
I, Carlton supporter think Nick Stevens is a better player than Nathan Eagleton, he think, WB fan thinks the opposite.

We need your help to decide this debate.

Cheers. :thumbsu:

When will people learn

The only way to eliminate bias in these polls is to make the poll options as follows:

Stevens (I'm a Carlton supporter)
Eagleton (I'm a Bulldogs supporter)
Stevens
Eagleton

Stupidest poll ive ever seen.
But Stevens by a mile.
I dont think you'll find many dogs supporters(apart from your housemate) who would think otherwise.

Stupidest poll you've ever seen huh? Well, you haven't seen many polls, Lol. This argument is a little more complex that you may think. Please hear me out...Firstly, it is difficult to prove who is the 'better player' as many factors contribute to this (I will attempt list a few and let you be judge...). This argument arose because I believe Nick Stevens is a highly overrated player and though he may get a lot of the football, his effectiveness is appalling. I believe a 'better player' is someone who not only wins a lot of the ball, but also contributes to the team in other ways. For example, would you say that Nick Stevens is better than the great Steven Silvani? Most people wouldn't, but I dare say that Stevens avg's more disposals than Silvani did. This is because of his position on the ground. In preface to the facts; both players have had similar histories with similar physicality’s, coming from Port to a Melbourne club, Stevens starting his career in 1998, Eagleton in 1997 and both have played a similar amount of games. Now for the facts... while Stevens beats Eagleton in total disposals (4700 to 3833), it is Eagleton who wins in goals/behinds (202/163 to 127/124), efficiency in front of goal, marks (1078 to 871), and frees against (145 to 170). I would expect a lot more from someone who was taken as a round one, pick #2 (Stevens), compared to a round three pick #20 (Eagleton). I definately wouldn't say, "Stevens by a mile".
In conclusion, whilst Nathan Eagleton may have a bad heart (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome), AT LEAST HE HAS ONE!!!!

probably stevens, but he is such an over-rated player.

but wait, he's part of the 'fab 4!'

judd is the only one in that 4 that is actually fabulous.

"Nick Stevens is a better player than Nathan Eagleton, he think, WB fan thinks the opposite". You formulate this sentance and then call ME the moron? Go back to school with mitch thorp. Seems like the both of you could use an education.

Thank you anti. That's all I needed to hear. Not that Eagleton was better, but that Stevens is over-rated. I rate Stevens up there with Lou Diamond-Philips and Ben Affleck.

surely you jest
nick stevens disposal is one of the best at ou club and his long accurate penetrating kicks can really hurt opponents
but i agree with some things you have said

Did anyone else watch the dogs carlton game on sunday? For a period in the game stevens was lined up against eago'. I know the blues won convincingly and looked the better side, but stevens had a shithouse game. I laughed when I read mondays herald sun and in the supercoach section they had stevens as the SUPERFLOP of this week. Couldn't even get a touch in a winning game. Stevens is such a douche.

OK, I can see they both have an outside style and are renowned for solid kicking skills.

I believe Nick Stevens has many more strings to his bow though. He can contribute in more locations on the ground, more often, and have a great impact on the game than Eagleton. Stevens has the ability to be the best player on the ground - I don't really think Eagleton does.
