He would be forced to admit that he is relying on a self confessed liar's word for his dismissal. Nixon's lawyer would have a field day.

Vlad wouldn't have to reference the girl or the tapes at all if he was to revoke Nixons licence. The AFL isn't a democracy.

I haven't read through the whole thread, so my views have probably already been shared by others, but...

I remember thinking it was kinda dodgy that a 24-year old Gilbert had an underage missus. Not illegal, but definitely uncouth.

Nixon is almost double Gilbert's age. And he's associating himself with her after everything that's happened. Simply staggering, you'd think his career is cactus now. Hope it was worth it Rick!

The difference with Gilbert is that he isn't married and doesn't have kids so that makes him look like less of a douche compared to Nixon but I guess that could be said about most of the population?

The tape might not be admissable initially, but if Nixon took the AFL to court for taking away his licence without proof, then the tape absolutely would have to come back in play as it is directly relevant.

OMG, think about this. This type of behaviour has been going on for decades. In a way, I thank her for actually putting herself on the firing line, so to speak. There are thousands of other women, girls who had to lie, cover up and deny the sexual behaviors of both men and women. 99.9% of the time, paid out and covered up. Remember who is ultimately in control of the police force, government or any organizations in power? Do you think Men are willing to allow (weaker sex) to gain a 50:50 balance?
Especially when you get the ridulous response in this thread about women earning the same amount as men in tennis when they only play 2 sets? You morons, so do they give up their lifestyles less than men, can they play as long as men? Not in this world when women have to carry your sperms.

The girl is the face of this behavior and she will, just like the chick who streaked in the 82 GF, be a spokesperson in 10 years time. It is unfortunate that men, feel free to degrade her actions as barbaric when women and girls alot younger, all over the world are controlled and r*ped without their will every minute of the day.

It is not about how much of S*^t she is but discussing the responsibility both sides want to take. Remember boys, when did you have to think about becoming sexually mature? Girls as young 10-12 have to take control of their bodies and the change that is occurring. You never have to. You have no idea and don't preach to us women about when we are mature or not. Just over 50 years ago, most women had children before they were 18 and they still do in most countries around world today.

As long as men see women as taking up some of their power over their own bodies and making their own decisions we will always have these scandals and label women as scanks.

And whilst I am on it. This issue has also raised the issue about having more female role models in football. Women, not only as board members but women who understand the game, play the game and coach. Women who have an understanding of the physical and mental exertion the players put themselves through 7 days a week. Rather than blaming each other for morals wrongs, work together and educate how both sides understand human behaviours. IT is sooooooooo needed

Nixon's always been a dog, and acted like a complete fool in this whole thing, but people who are painting this girl as some kind of hero for successfully getting revenge have serious issues. She's blatantly admitted to starting a relationship with Nixon specifically to "seek revenge". She seems to have got away with it this time, so far at least, but that kind of attitude will bring about her downfall very quickly if she doesn't grow out of it very soon.


Regardless of what happened to her in the past, her actions in this situation were not acceptable - and the fact that Nixon's were also unacceptable doesn't change that.

Yes. Valentine's Day was less than a week ago! This is all very recent.

I'm still awaiting a response from Vlad, who has been prone in the past to firing from the hip. This silence is a little out of the ordinary. Not surprising though....the whole situation is a lose-lose proposition for everybody.

Two things interest me out of all this.

1. I never cease to be amazed by the idiots involved in AFL football, be they players, administrators, player agents, whatever. It's almost as though morons gravitate towards the sport. I can just imagine career advisors telling young men, "Sorry, you're just not smart enough to compete in the business world, your only options are unemployment or AFL football".

2. People gunning for the 17 year old saying she knows exactly what's she's doing, etc, and yet when they talk about footballers in their 20s acting like imbiciles they say, "Oh, they're only kids, boys will be boys, and kids make mistakes". Can't have it both ways people. We say a 20-odd year old footballer is a "kid", but we expect a 17 year old girl to behave like a seasoned adult. The whole thing smacks of double standards to me.
