December 2025: Ashes in Aus.

With all the above, new bowlers MUST be given a chance and I'd almost change 4 batsmen.

I expect Steve Smith will be given the entire Ashes series next summer as his lap of honour a la Warner last year. These blokes pick themselves.

1 day matches should NEVER be played before a test series. Either olay a test series or do not pick test players and have them gaining form in shield. You are spot on

I'm watching the scores online but watching the AFLW so not sure if we can find an excuse.

Stood way too far back in their creases. Didn’t adjust.

That is a direction from the Captian/Coaches.

Why anyone on a pitch like that stands so deep on the crease is asking for trouble. It wasnt a complete road of a pitch. Its becoming a road, there was a little juice in it. Butchered it.

How many of the team do people feel good about in 2 years’ time? I think there’s an argument to say the answer is none.

Khawaja: almost 38 and averaged 32 since the start of last summer
Mcsweeney: a young guy playing out of position
Labuschagne: badly out of form and has barely scored a run for 20 tests
Smith: absolutely washed. Our best batsman of the last 15 years but time catches up to everyone
Head: a good solid batsman who will finish his career averaging low 40s, but is streaky and is almost 31 already
Carey: good solid keeper but not young and averages 30 with the bat. I’d guess he’s the closest you’d feel comfortable about
Cummins: wrong side of 30, leadership doesn’t seem to suit him. Amazing bowler when on. I guess he is the other one you’d say you feel good about, but not as much as 1-2 years ago
Starc: will be retired
Hazelwood: will be retired
Lyon: should be retired but has an ego the size of a house and is allowed to do pretty much whatever he wants, so he’ll probably still be plodding around averaging 33 with the ball yet being called the goat
