Listened to it on ABC in the car and Jim Maxwell calling it

Fantastic and unbelievable win for them

It made me think, if those inexperienced Windies can do it, why not North in 2024?

On the money that Clarko will be editing something together tonight for tomorrows pep talk
Do we have anybody on the list with a broken toe?

Great scenes when the West Indies won it. 30 years since they’ve won a test in Australia and clearly meant a lot. Still rate that West Indies team from the late 70’s - 80‘s as the most ‘coolest’ ever in world sport.

They were invincible as well…that 93 2 run loss at the Adelaide Oval and AB piffing the ball in the change rooms is up there with one of my greatest sporting losses

Absolutely, would have been nice to hear Lara call it, but he well and truly got shouted over by Smith
I'm pretty sure he was just too excited and elated for the Windies win to be able to call anything. I'd be the same too.

5.42pm: Never mind Bazball, that was incredi-ball

5.33pm: That is among the most sensational results in Test cricket we've seen in, oooh, at least a few hours (props to Shamar and co)! India's fourth defeat at home in 48 Tests, and the biggest turnaround by a visiting team on Indian soil, in terms of first-innings deficit. England were in the hole after conceding a 190-run lead but ran towards the danger in Baz-approved style, turning things around through Ollie Pope's majestic 196 before the debutant, Tom "The Hitman" Hartley ripped through the home side for figures of 7 for 62.

Pressure does funny things to batsmen but having a fast bowler like the Windies now have gives an X factor.
Pressure doesn't explain the way starc was batting he was batting dumb trying to slog everything he saw. Don't know if he was told to do that but either way it's dumb batting

I think the idea was for Starc to smack a few around and get a quick 30 or 40 which would have dramatically reduced the total. Starc was never going to survive just hanging around. As good a fighting innings as it was by Smith he got bogged down at times and scored less than half the runs despite being at the crease the whole innings. If you play to survive with that type of quick bowling on a pitch offering enough assistance you will get a ball with your name on it sooner or later. Its why I think bazball has been really effective in most cases because it gets the scoreboard moving instead going no where. It dosnt mean everyone has to play that way but a quick 30 or 40 from Starc would have won the game chasing a low total. He was on his way to doing it but couldn't execute it for long enough. Another 20 from him and it would have been game over.It was Australia's form of Bazball from Starc but it didnt work for them the same. When it does its match winning but when it dosnt it can look ugly.

I was watching on channel 7, they went to the news at tea time with two wickets in hand and about 37 runs to go, and never came back. What is with that, or did I do something?
We have been starved of exciting close competative international cricket in Oz for a long time now and to go to the news was ridiculous at that stage. That would never have happened in the 70s 80s or even 90s especially under Kerry Packer's watch on channel 9

Moved to 7mate whilst the news was on.

Ahh, I switched around to some of the other 7 channels and couldnt find it on another channel. I must be an old dinosaur from when we only had a few TV channels to choose from not all these sister channels. You can tell I dont watch much TV outside of my favourite stuff

Thanks for the explanation, I am filthy. Probably stupidity on my part but I now have a hatred for Jim Jefferies and his 100% moron club
He has to be the un-funniest bloke I have ever seen. The format of the show is entertaining - he is shockingly bad.

of all the batters who failed, smith was absolutely not one of them in that second innings. Starc was not playing bazball, starc was batting how starc bats.

Starc’s been a walking wicket for a while now, I actually didn’t mind his approach when the ball was up.

Just needed to be more selective.
