Easy to point out in hindsight. The top order didn’t deliver. I read somewhere that Head’s last 3 innings at the Gabba have been ducks.
Easy in hind sight but I hated it at the time too

Also Ian Smith might be the worst commentator in world cricket at the moment.

Was happy for lara though
Gotta be happy for the West Indies though, I’d rather lose to them 2000x over than a few other teams

Absolutely, would have been nice to hear Lara call it, but he well and truly got shouted over by Smith

That was awesome.

You’d need to be a close family member of an Aussie player or selector not to have barracking for the windies.

And all the better that it sticks a big middle finger up at the sanctimony of Australian cricket ethos, of both admin and fanbase.

Listened to it on ABC in the car and Jim Maxwell calling it

Fantastic and unbelievable win for them

It made me think, if those inexperienced Windies can do it, why not North in 2024?

On the money that Clarko will be editing something together tonight for tomorrows pep talk

I think it might go back to the selectors.

I appreciate they didn't rate the Windies, but playing both Marsh and Green in the top 6 was asking for trouble - neither are top order batsmen.
Green bats at 4 for WA. Averaged 63 & 76 in last 2 Shield seasons.

The selectors IMO should be savaged for taking Warner to India and UK last year when they should have been bedding in a new opener. Travis Head needs to pull his head in; Carey is treading water with Inglis in the wings; Labs has forgotten how to leave the ball, and Smith has looked a shadow of his former self until this last innings.....

But, well done, WI. And well done Pakistan. A potentially lopsided test summer ended up hard fought, and very entertaining.

Australian batsmen with plenty of work to do. Or maybe a nice, refreshing break from cricket, but that ain't going to happen.

I've actually forgotten which country it was (Pakistan, maybe?), but didn't a team ravaged by injury & having to fly extra young players over beat Australia a few years back - also at the Gabba, from memory?

India 2021.

Nah - this is better. Although undermanned, at least India had a strong cricket culture, strong off field presence and healthy future. West Indies have none of those things. You could make a fair argument before this Test that if you pooled the 22 players together and picked a First XI and Second XI, the First XI would be the 11 Australians and the Second XI would be the West Indies.
