gotta imagine the next 4 pitches will be barely detectable compared to the square to rectify this. maybe not all 4, but at least a couple of them

So are theirs - most of them are probably still in therapy after facing up to Boland at the MCG. I'd back our quicks every day of the week on a seaming deck.

Although flat wickets probably won't help the Poms in the long run either as Broad, Anderson, Stokes and Ali are no longer capable of bowling for long spells. This will only become more apparent as the series progresses.

What I can't get over is the accolades from commentators regarding the English batting and fielding. There was not one shot played that wasn't brilliant other than those where a wicket fell, and every single fielding effort bar the two that were knocked on to the boundary was magnificent, supurb, outstanding or sinply wonderful, including those that an under 10 would have gathered in.
