Footwork was definitely poor (it's drilled into openers, no gap between bat and pad against the new ball) but my point was if he was playing the line of the ball he shouldn't have played at it at all. You're always gonna be in trouble with a ball that does what that one did but he didn't give himself a chance.

Yep there seems to be excessive seam movement and unpredictability with the bounce of the ball as well.

SA haven't really been batting well not using footwork to be more aggressive but yeah this is pretty poor for a Gabba pitch. It should be ripe for cricket!

That Khawaja shot was ridiculously bad.

Would not want to be out there facing this. One bloke throwing them down at 150kph zipping through and the other is one of the best in the world steaming in. Nothing to gain.
