Did they? Cummins has was great but Lyon didn't threaten, Hazlewood has was just tidy and Starc bowled some trash. From 4/49 Pakistan took hold of them.

Shouldn't rely on bowlers for runs but you should expect more than 5/10 in 20 balls. Six of the top 7 got 34-60, one of them needed to go on a bit but on this pitch 5/289 was OK and heading for 350+.
I think the pitch in the first innings was obviously favourable to whoever won the toss and elected to bat. Day two though? Bowlers did a pretty good job, what would be a par score for India on day one of that pitch? 3/380?

Punter was correct in saying 300 is a decent score as the pitch would deteriorate. Other than the flat spot in the middle of the wicket (needs to be rectified in future, but we never get to play cricket on the SCG, its probably been an issue for beat part of a decade. But now we know) it really was a great pitch for batting. Then spin played late.

Definitely two sessions of batting paradise on day 1.

Bowlers did well in first innings

12 for 78, absolutely ridiculous.

Defensive techniques have never been poorer.

Some of Pakistan today was fantastic.

Some of Pakistan today was utter balls.

If Pakistan were an AFL team, they'd regularly be 5 goals down 20mins into the first quarter. They'd then get to half time level. having dominated the second quarter kicking 8 goals to 2. They'd then go 3 goals down but then kick 6 goals in row only to give up 2 goals in time on. They'd then cough up 3 more goals early in the last, get 2 back, and then totally collapse and lose by 6.

That’s what I’ve always loved about them, never know what they will score

Like having players called up to test team not released for BBL?

Like marketing key players you have?

Like ensuing pathways for developing players to come through?

Or, rather than blowing $5 million on a handful of big players playing 1-2 games, having a collection of lower paid players playing a good level of cricket?

Sounds a lot like us, yikes.

Just finished work and caught up on some of the highlights.

Bloody hell, how bad have some of the umpiring decisions been this series?

Gives Marsh out LBW when it hits him mid quad. The blokes like 15 foot tall.
