I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get Majak.
I rate him a 10% chance of being a star, a 25% chance of being a solid senior player and a 65% chance of being a dud who gets 10 games or less. And let's face it, they are about the usual odds for a rookie.

However his media and PR value if nothing else would have been worth a late round rookie pick. The trouble is I don't think I'd drop either Rose or Prato so I'm not sure how we would have fitted him in.

I'm more disappointed we didn't get Scully or Trengove or Talia ...

I think at this stage it's a bit of a win/win/win.

AFL are happy an African born player has been recruited.

North are happy with the attention and with the small chance they can tap in to his athletic potential. (From what I've seen he can take a grab alright!)

Bulldogs were happy to overlook him in the National Draft and it made room for our last pick Patrick Rose to get a spot on the list. A ready made player who could cover injuries in our premiership assaults in 10/11.

You guys wouldn't have? His name is Majak...

We're excited because for the 1st time in years we've taken someone who isn't a delisted dud.

I can't believe the hype to be honest, just because he was given some air time?

Much happier having a REAL footballer in Panos developing rather than some athlete who can run & jump, Jesse Wells could also run & jump! And Daw will need to be educated on the fundamentals of the game, where to run, where to position himself, how to read the play etc, give me a slower but genuine footballer any day of the week than some Setanta O'KickACloke type.

Honestly you'd think it was the second coming the way Norf fans are rattling on about him! Already nicknamed ''Magic'':rolleyes:

That is his nickname and a fairly obvious one.

I don't think we are raving that he will be an overnight star, he is a long way from AFL level and he conceded he may be 3 or 4 years from being an AFL player.

But, that is what the rookie draft is for, you get some lumps of coal and if they turn into diamonds then that is fantastic, they are generally long shots, if we thought he would be a short-term chance of playing we would have taken him in the main draft.

He has size, speed and agility and is still growing, if we can polish up the rougher parts of his game then he has a chance of being a very good player, that exciting type that people will want to watch, they don't grow on trees and it is worth trying to develop them.

The corrolation with his name ''Me wrong'' . Hope he becomes a good footballer just that some on your board a little to caught up in the romance of it all.

Apparently Leon Cameron wasn't impressed when he trained with the club(in terms of skills) so it's doubtful we would have picked him anyway.

Yeah right.

It's the rookie draft and it's purely speculative so these are the types of players you rookie list. The Bullies were definately going to pick him if he was available.

What a crap statement, where's your proof?

That's your opinion, not the Bulldogs:eek:.

If Cameron wasn't impressed when he trained with the club it would be highly doubtful IMO on him joining the club.
