Re: O'Keefe to Essendon or Carlton in PSD...

With Warnock at Carlton on approx. $350k now, they would be overflowing with their Salary cap if they went for O'Keefe.

Isn't he already contracted?

Agreed verbally to an extension, then apparently changed his mind after someone got in his ear at the Brownlow night.

Given his wife is from Sydney, don't be surprised to see him sign a 1 year extension, or possibly stay 3 more years rather than go into the PSD.

Here's hoping. :thumbsu:

The Eagles should threaten to pick him. That way the he'll re-sign with the Swans. I can handle that as opposed to the Blues getting him.

Pay him $800K to play for one year then trade him to Carlton/Coll for 1st round pick :thumbsu:

I think we should go after him. I honestly do. We'd get goals from him and will be a mature head in the forward line. Not the worst idea to get him over here for a year at the least. We've got the cap space I hope (not sure how much Kerr re-signed for, $$$-wise).

Yeah I'm sure you'd get a first rounder for him when he's a year older, considering we couldn't get pick 16 for him this time.

Can't imagine him being happy even further away from Melbourne, though.

QUESTION

Can he nominate for the national draft as well as the pre-season?

That would the clubs with early picks to choose between a kid or him. That might allow him to drop through to the hawks.

Not sure where your logic is coming from here, Carlton have a list full of kids and with the excpetion of Judd and Fevola who would you suggest would be taking up such great portions of the salary cap?

A great comparison is Geelong's, what 9 AA players last year? With slightly less then that this year but still a massive spread being AA they remain under the salary cap (just)

How could Carlton possibly be under cap pressure with only 2 AA this year? Warnock coming to Carlton for what will most likely be the estimated amount u spoke about being 350k a yr, is quite a non issue as that is what carlton has been paying Hackland, who will be 99% be delisted, since it used the money to entice him from StKilda. Cap issue is clearly not an issue and your comment is quite honestly...wrong
