Ben Brown is a protected flopping species. It kills the game
But you know he's got the crazy Sideshow Bob hair and the hilariously long run up, so all is forgiven, right?

It helps when you have a half a dozen young key position players to replace him immediately. A lot of their best players tonight aren’t even 24.
We appear to be the only club that can’t get any decent key position players at all.
Cordy is a free agent at the end of this yearI'll say it again, it's criminal and it needs to be fixed immediately.
At the end of the year we ditch the likes of Cordy and Gardner, the below average mids and trade out a top liner mid it two and actually get some key position structure going.
Not an indictment on him at all but he would be depth at all other clubs.Cordy is a free agent at the end of this year
Essendon are still all hype.
If you listen to the media parish is a top 10 player when in reality he’s a small accumulator with average hurt factor and no defense
Stringer is still a flaky X factor player who looks great at times but still goes missing very readily. He’s actually no better or worse than he was most of the time with us, and hasn’t hit the AA heights he did in 2015 despite getting plaudits as this out and out gun.
Nik cox is a baby giraffe, not this absolute rising star we are told.
They are a very soft team and it’s no wonder they went to water when we stepped up the pressure in that elimination final
Yes! I was expecting a lot more HTB but it’s been the same. Have there been any 50m punishments handed out for dissent?Regarding the non-calls for holding the ball, I thought the AFL tightened this rule, so that as soon as the tackle begins the ball- holder had to dispose of it. There's been quite a few where players have tried to break tackles and have been allowed to do so without penalty. Maybe I'm missing something!
They look like a cohesive unit that’s for sure. Their midfield is vanilla on paper but they go in hard and don’t give up any easy ball out of stoppages. They have a nice mix of big, nimble backs who can also hit targets (Sam Frost not withstanding). Their forwards make the most of their game plan, that is surge and play on, don’t give the opposition time to flood numbers back.I hate to say it because I find Mitchell arrogant, but the team is well coached with everyone playing their role and even his press conference had the right blend of acknowledgment of the oppositions issues I.e. carrying injuries, but praising his players.
Probably does biggest w***er In the mediaDo you reakon Kane believes in the covid vax microchip conspiracy as well, lol!!

Came here to say exactly this. First thing we need to dump. I get it situationally but having the rule like we do where we give 5m on EVERY mark or free is stupid. We did it twice when Daniel kicked OOTF and both times instead of getting a man in where the ball went out, we retreated and gave the oppo an extra 10m space. Crazy tactic that doesn’t benefit us at all.I haven’t noticed any other team trying the “retreat 5m” philosophy.
Can’t we just revert back to making the opposition kick over the mark, giving our defence more time to set up.
VFL side are also doing it.Came here to say exactly this. First thing we need to dump. I get it situationally but having the rule like we do where we give 5m on EVERY mark or free is stupid. This is probably the most tactically frustrating thing about 2022 so far. I’d cut this before bringing in an extra ruck and that says ALOT.
It’s infuriating. In the space of 4 kicks we’ve gifted the opposition 20m. It’s literally the stupidest tactic I’ve seen an AFL team employ.Came here to say exactly this. First thing we need to dump. Freo are clueless going forward. You’ve gotta think both these teams will be down the bottom at the end of the year.We think we've got problems: Freo basically let Saints run them ragged in the 3rd quarter. Skill levels were terrible and they wilted under pressure. No Fife and Mundy, no Freo. Max King and Higgins feasting on Freo's turnovers and lack of aggression.
I agree it’s a bit silly but you know we did it literally the entirety of last year and we made the grand final? I noticed Richmond did the exact same thing today as well.Youse guys commenting about the stupidity of our ceding 5 metres on the mark. Welcome to the club and last week.
How it survived into the second week beggars belief.
It should've been knocked win the head like the demented red headed step child that it is after one week.
The current rule requires the marker to stand stock still whilst the kicker races past him and opens a break of up to 10 metres before kicking. Bev and the coaches know better.I agree it’s a bit silly but you know we did it literally the entirety of last year and we made the grand final? Do 'good' teams generally fair better compared to expected scores than 'poor' teams? Or is that completely irrelevant?
Whenever you think of Mitchell's arrogance, remember this.
