Unpopular opinion - the marketing around AFLX was ****ing embarrassing, but the concept of the game is one I am absolutely on board with. I'd love to see it adopted Australia-wide as a less serious option for people who want to play footy but aren't as fit or are prone to soft tissue injuries (since there's much less running required). It was a good idea, just way over commercialized.

A lot of presidents are very quiet, it’s not their jobs to be front and centre of everything. We were just lucky to have someone of Peter Gordon’s calibre.

Peggy O’Neal is the Tigers present and you practically hear nothing from her publicly. I actually had to look the Demons president up. Kate Roffey? Literally never heard of her.

Most presidents around the comp are invisible, not to be mistaken with the CEO.

I think I'd have a much higher opinion of him if it weren't for extending the GF MCG deal. Outside of extenuating circumstances, we won't see a Grand Final scheduled outside of Victoria until 2060. That's truly embarrassing for a "national" competition

It's not out of the question for it to cost a family $10k+ to attend if living interstate, due to the insane costs of flights and accommodation during GF week.

I agree. Imo Optus stadium is the best in the country and was an awesome venue for last year's GF. It should be able to host grand finals outside pandemic years.
