Also notice Prestia didn’t even know he was awarded a free, was waking away once the siren gone until that campaigner Grimes ran in.

Very interesting article in The Age today about South Sudanese players in the AFL. Buku Khamis is highlighted but the intent of the article is to explain the cultural bridging that such players have to negotiate to enter the AFL sphere. There is mention of some emerging talent which could be in our back yard as well.

That has to be paid as 50m
Yeah there's no point even having rules if you're going to over ride them based on "the vibe". The entire problem the AFL has is that literally everything changes based on interpretation so nobody trusts any decision, and then you decide not to enforce something as black and white as kicking the ball away after a free.

And the looserr iss Sydeney!!
Oh well. Even when they win, they're still Sydney!

law and order crazy shit GIF

Just saw the replay - it's a tough call (i.e. I can see how the swans guy thought the game was over, but technically, well....)

Was just enjoyable to see Riewoldt do his naanaa - seething, lol
Imagine how he would have been if the free was reversed due to dissent! Could have ended up with a couple of 50s the other way and another Swans goal :p

Yeah! They were discussing that on the radio.

I guess it would have ended up back in the spot where he kicked it from. Free kick, 50 metres for kicking to stands, reverse free kick & 50 metres for dissent.

It's a joke though isn't it? Buku shrugs WTF (not necessarily dissent, just asking what was that for) and 50 - Toby Greene ruins the game again!

Ha would have been worth it to see the melts but never an option. Swans couldn't have earnt a free at that point, it just would have been taken off Richmond and the game would be over.

They go on about the responsibility of the ‘bumper’ not to hit the head. The same responsibility should always be for the guy going for a mark not putting their knee into the head or kidneys of the guy they’re jumping on. I do feel for Cal Ward. Leaving for the Giants was a bad career move but he seems to play the right way.
