In particular the cost to the Tasmanian Government is estimated to be more than double the $375m they said they would limit their spending to. Benefits have been overestimated and disingenuous efforts have been made to conceal the cost increases. Unsurprisingly the AFL doesn’t escape criticism.

The Tasmanian Government has thanked their chosen consultant and said they are carrying on regardless. What a shitshow.

Keep playing. You can do a marathon in your 40’s. I miss the footy team camaraderie.

I think umpiring is for ‘unique’ types. If you have played a lot of footy yourself you are probably not one of those suited to umpiring.

I gave away footy at 31 when my work (employment) demands wouldn’t allow me to continue.

If you enjoy footy then play as long as possible. I miss playing more than I ever imagined.
