Port Adelaide champion Kane Cornes pointed out Tredrea has a “close relationship” with both list manager Jason Cripps and assistant coach Carr.

“It’s amazing, really, and it goes just how hard it is to be involved in the footy club and in the media at the same time,” Cornes said.
I think there's this other person in the media that likes to take potshots at everyone bar the club his brother coaches at with a senior coach that gifted him a 300th farewell game; I believe his name starts with K and ends with Ornes

There’s no doubt he’s gone, but if I was Carr I’d turn it down. He’s had enough influence there to have had a say in their decline and as the head coach he will have to own it.
I think Carr will have to take the job if on offer. He might have lost a bit of reputation already, as it's clear he does most of the game day coaching.

I've lost count of the number of times I've posted about Port's overrated average list. Ken's not their biggest problem.

While it's nice turning the knife, look where we are.
Both SA clubs have significant list issues. They just have more class in the midfield, but even that's been curtailed now that Butters is being tagged and is sniping out of frustration with Rozee also having an injury-interrupted year.

Interview with Josh Carr

They ask him if there’s an arrangement for him to just take over

He says “I don’t think like that…there’s always a process…” 😄😄

So he’s expecting it to happen!

If Carr does take over, I wonder if he would try to rebuild?

If the Butters rumours are true, you'd think he would attract heavy interest - with him still having two years on his contract, that would likely be a first and a second rounder at minimum - and a primary midfield trifecta of Rozee/JHF/Drew would still be more than sufficient.

If they can shift a couple of their mediocre players, or trade a tall to a team who needs key position players (like North, or maybe Hawthorn), then they could get at least one more second rounder in.

One first and three seconds is a decent haul, and they could potentially flip 2-3 of the seconds to get another first rounder. Obviously the Butters thing is a massive if, but there's potential to explore for them here.

He needs to. The list is garbage. Port have a disaster on their hands due to throwing all their eggs in the missing pieces trade basket. They got so convinced it was the right path they traded in C grade fringe hacks. They have only had 1 first and 2nd round pick in 4 years. They have the best midfield by far but this was a make or break year for them as it was always going to be a one shot and list rebuild. It woudn't surprise me in the least that there is a secret plan B with that list if they didn't succeed this year and thats rebuild. They dont even have draft picks this year lol. They sold them all.

Port need a dire rebuild. I dont think they will play finals for the next decade. Our list is bad but its 10x better than the trash fire awaiting the next coach at Alberton.

They’d have every right to ask for 2+ firsts for butters and they’d get it easy.

That could be an absolute disaster for them. Butters is their best player, exchanging him for draft picks?

I did say at minimum. Two firsts is definitely more likely.

Another problem in this hypothetical is that none of the Victorian clubs have multiple firsts, and the only ones he would actually want to go to won't have the capacity to make the required deals.

I still think he stays personally, but it's an interesting idea to think about.

Who knows maybe geelong go shopping at the Gold Coast again for a 1st and a player?

Gold Coast give up Jack Lukosious and WB first (currently pick 8), in exchange for Geelong second (currently 32) and fourth (currently 68).

Fair deal in my books.

The gloss is somewhat coming off Rozee, he then gets more attention.

I mean I'd love to see it, but the Power won't want to lose Butters, for PR reasons alone.

Tarps back stuff.
Yep
Butters will be able to write his own cheque

They need a rebuild, or at the least a "refresh", but that would be with the goal of preserving their Rozee/Butters/JHF midfield

Actually move on Boak, Dixon, McKenzie and Clurey for real this time

Trade Wines and a couple of their overrated role players. Could they get a decent pick for Farrell? Byrne-Jones? Marshall? Replace them with free agents (even DFA) if needed

Effectively tank in 2025 (and maybe 2026) for good draft picks and use them

Set your sights on 2027 when Rozee and Butters are 27 years old and in their prime, complemented by Horne-Francis, Houston, Bergman, Aliir, Georgiades and so on

So Port's CEO phoned 5AA after Tredrea agreed with a caller teeing off on Hinkley.

It really has gone nuclear over there.

They'll probably win three of their next four and Ken will be safe again though.

Great time for Tim Ginever to have off. Warren is supposed to be there all week. I wonder if he even makes it to tonight’s show. Port would be doing everything to keep him quiet.

What night is Caro on, that should be interesting.

It's certainly taken the spotlight away from us.

At least until our next embarassing performance.

Wasn't Tredrea calling for Ken's head last season, prior to being on the board?

Who did they think they were appointing? Did they think the guy on the radio was a different Warren Tredrea to the one who played for them?
