I agree, that's why I think Carlton are most probably the likely place he'll end up.

Pick 11 that they currently hold is most probably around the apex of what he's worth, especially with this draft.

They can talk all they want about two first rounders etc but at the end of the day he's only worth what other clubs are prepared to pay.

Contending clubs will pay more though. Plus he's contracted, clubs that want him will have to pay. Port don't need the cap space, they can keep him. And knowing them, they'll just push someone else out if they don't get what they want and feel they're overburdened with half backs.

I somewhat agree, but there's only so many times you can roll Mark Seymour out.

Most Aussie bands don't fit the size of the occasion
You could put a "super" group together like they used to in the "old days" where they'd have a plethora of people and muso's performing, dancers, choirs, kids, balloons, flappy men, flybys, retiring the giant guernseys down over the crowds - even Muhammed Ali being driven around the ground.... ah, they were the days.

We're moving toward Super Bowl territory really, only the big names will do.

Rightly or wrongly

Good money if you can get it...

$5 Mill for 5 songs.

$50/head for 5 songs sounds about right given concert ticket prices. Plus she's entertaining al the FTA viewers for nothing. There's not a single Oz band worthy of performing at what is an international event. Should be free to busk outsude the stadium though.

We're trying to make it an international event. Why settle on bog average local entertainment. Could just get a DJ to play best of the 80s too.
It's not an international event though, is it? It's an Australian event. And there's lots of fabulous performers in this country.

Not worthy of headlining the biggest sporting event of the year. Look, I'm happy to go with nothing, but if you're going to have someone playing music, then they need to measure up. No current Aussie act comes close.

Bullshit. You could come up with a list a mile long of quality Aussie acts. They've got Katy Perry playing this year. Who the hell wants to listen to that garbage ?? Utter trash. The best act of recent times that the AFL have had at the GF was Birds of Tokyo in 2013. That was seriously good. And there's plenty more out there.

Not worthy of headlining the AFL there isn't. You have low standards, we're a pimple on the world stage's butt.

Again, completely wrong. Go to big music festivals across Europe and the US. Always loaded with Aussie talent. Who are some of these names you are thinking are worthy of headlining the AFL GF ?? I think it could be you with low standards or zero musical taste.

You’ll never please everyone, I’m guessing more people would know and like Katy Perry than Birds of Tokyo
