WA would be a strong market. Surprised no one's thought of playing AFL over there more regularly. Hell, even permanent maybe have some local teams? Oh wait

Freo and West Coast are buying home games. Great deal. We should offer Kangaroos the same deal.

Nice leg up for the WA teams, particularly Fremantle who should finish high up.

We can't complain as we have the extra home game with gather round.

But surely this shows that Roos should leave the AFL when Tasmania come in.

absolute panhandling stuff from North

and yet they killed Fitzroy by blocking the Schweppes sponsorship they got

sliding doors - with how the actual suburb Fitzroy is these days, I wonder if they had been able to make it through the 90s if they'd be a more popular team now

Was it Melbourne that previously sold games to play in Qld?

I reckon it was in the early 2000's when Bris were at their peak.
Dees, Kangaroos & Hawks have all sold interstate home games.

Bulldogs have sold Ballarat home games.

Don't think Saints have... but sure someone will correct me if wrong.

For someone who doesn't engage much in the details of contracts, can someone explain to me why Jaidan Stephenson would get a red cent of his $500K next year, let alone a huge chunk (reported to be $300K), given he's walked away from it?

It’s a negotiated walk away, like we did with Gibbs. Club wants player out, they pay for their outcome.

Cairns maybe ??

The crazy comeback game
Yeah, reckon you may be right.

All these sides which have sold games should be consideration for merger or closure.

Getting back to 16 teams with Tasmania would be ideal.

if you have to play games in China you shouldn't be in the league
