Grenville was apparently caught out late at night without cab fare home, so he went into a pizza shop and ordered a pizza delivery to his home, then hopped in the car for a free ride and paid the driver in cash for the pizza when he got there.
That is actually a true story.
He was trying to ride a bike home with a pizza and fell off breaking the bike and losing his pizza.
So he walked back, ordered another and jumped in with the delivery driver for a lift home.
Old Westies footballer later journalist Merv Agars did a story and a photo reenactment
with a photo of him on a pushie with a pizza.
Poor fella has lost part of a leg due to diabetes .

I vaguely recall that story. He missed training. Might have been State training actually

Said that he was riding his bike home with a pizza balanced on the handlebars

Went over a bump and the pizza tipped over and fell on his leg, burning his thigh which is why he couldn't train

Trafficking.
Sent a text offering it to 4 other Melbourne players who’s sphincter’s would be tight right now.
I gather those 4 Dees players were not so "random" tested & in the future.

Sis he send a text to his coach though...

No they wouldn’t. If anything was going to be done about the players who got the text msgs we'd know by now.

Right now is the ideal time to be dumping bad AFL news. The whole thing is carefully managed. Melb CEO stands down, their football review is released, and the Smith sanctions are revealed, all in a very dead AFL week. They are ripping off bandaids and setting up for good news stories through the draft and pre-season.

That’s why I posted this 2 post down.

“edit : The 4 players only needed to self report not to be named but are still known.”

One of them would have to have been on last strike for there to be an issue I assume.
Reckon they would be pretty nervous about their names hitting main stream media though.

Grenville was a great mate of Malcolm Sampson who had the Railway/Overway Hotel in Gawler way back when and often used to hang out there or at the Gawler greyhounds where Malcolm Sampson ran the on course bar at the time, Grenville was very friendly with a lot of the greyhound folk at the time and was certainly a character ...did like a beer or two or three.

Won’t clog the thread but need to have a beer one day. My stepfather JB and also my uncle “Alan White” played for South Adelaide, had dogs based at Gawler and knew Malcolm.
Our best dog was “Pommy Tenacity”

I worked with a guy who was a barman at the Prospect RSL. The stories he told of Grenville sneaking for a beer and other things So funny. Grenville is a true Aussie larrikin hero. Played 1 season at WT with 72 goals. Could have been anything.

Does anyone know what happened to that Power flog that reported Crouch to the police for tipping his hat?

I had heard he tried to withdraw it after being mocked by everyone, but due to the publicity it had already gone to far.
Case dismissed flog embarrassed
