I reckon the GF will be Collingwood and Geelong

With the right finals permutation, Cats could easily make it.

I can see Cats beating the Power at AO, not sure if they can beat the Lions at the GABBA.

Apart from Finals they don't leave Victoria.

Could win all of their last games.

Collingwood too.

Interesting "quirk" of the draw seeing the two biggest Vic clubs in Premiership windows have such a run home

He took 5 or so steps straight towards the mark, then deviated 30 degrees towards the line. That is indisputable. What needs clarifying is whether that is within the rules which seem to imply that he needed to take only a single direction before the boundary.
The "deviation" is the bit. Walking towards the mark isn't anything

The 30 degrees towards the boundary is the straight towards the line bit

If he'd then dodged back the other way before crossing the line it's out of bounds but he continued on into play

Its hilarious seeing Crows supporters walk a bit taller and feel a bit better (myself included), Power failure at AO vs Pies last night is just one step closer to ensuring Power will struggle to win the flag this year, coupled with a Lions win, placing pressure on Port to stay in the Top 2.

I do buy into what GreyCrow said though, Power winning the flag, would ignite our chances of winning one by putting a rocket up the Clubs arse.

I mean its taken them what over 26 years to catch up to our flag tally as my saving grace if they went all the way in 2023.

Do you get a sense that those of us who are critical of club errors and lack of success want our club to be like what Collingwood are doing, that we might have a point with our criticisms and get frustrated with posters who offer up defences even when not warranted?
I was talking about the effect their fan base has. The atmosphere at their games is levels above ours and most other clubs.

If you want to bring up what Collingwood are doing as if to say they are getting it all right, they won 2 flags in 65 years.

Our team, while far from perfect, have improved in just about every way on last season. Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say.

If you can GF tickets, imagine how much you could easily sell them on the black market for most likely lock for a Pies flag in 2023?

Pies fans will pay through the roof. Its going to be insane if they make it.
I should have done what my mate did and at 3 quarter time leave the 2017 GF and sell my ticket to a Tigers fan for 1200 bucks

I would never pay $1200 for a GF ticket at 3/4 time if the result was clearly in the bag.

Thats like $40 a minute to see players like Keays kick it out of bounds.

Hearing all the talk this morning you would think no teams has gotten close to besting Collingwood this year. We did it twice.

Also no way should Murphy get fined for staging. He probably didn't need to go down like he did but if we penalise a guy after getting a slap in the face and the guy that did it gets off then something is wrong.
Sum all his exaggeration and fine him for something, every contest he seems like he’s been hit somewhere in the head.
No wonder the umps didn’t pay high contact when Fogarty hit him.

it's pretty simple. You can play on as long as you continue to move in a straight line. You're not playing on as you move along the line of the mark, so the rule isn't relevant at that time. It becomes relevant when you are deemed to have played on, which is when you move off the original line. And as long as you continue on the same line towards the boundary, you're not out of bounds. So you can walk straight at the mark and then in another direction but cannot deviate from that second path.

i don't dislike the guy and reckon he's a pretty decent coach. But his self satisfaction and the way he talks as if he's coaching the Cats 3peat group is irritating.

The bloke has been coaching at one club for 11 years (hopefully more).

Reckon he has pocketed a nice sum of $$$ along the way. He is the one who can laugh.

Energised supporter base, I wonder why? Is it it because of what happened 60 years ago or how how well they are travelling now?

As for comparing the two clubs, please, says it all that you’re going back 62 years. They are clearly a better performed club over recent years with our last flag 25 years ago and counting. You’re right, Rome wasnt built in a day.

Have you seen our midfield today? And we are heading for a 11-13th finish so in a competition all that matters is how well you’re faring compared to the rest of the competition.

Walking in line with the mark is not play on
