YepWhy do they persist with the "medical problem" line? It's fairly clear what has occurred ( again)
" mental health issue" is the usual. Technically correct I suppose, substance addiction is listed in DSMiv as a condition.Yep
I thought "calf injury" was the preferred term for it anyway?
DuhAt least Melbourne won the premiership before starting to implode.
I reckon if we won in 2017 and then all the s**t that followed still happened it would be easier to swallow
I'd still hit it.
We wouldn't have got curtin if we landed Oliver, then we would have been totally ****ed.
This isn't a bullet dodged, it's a nuclear warhead middle dodged.
I did say the 'right' money.not necessarily, players will accept less if they're a chance at a flag. Not a great deal less, but Port won't have to match a crap team's offer. If it was purely about $, Roos wouldn't lose any players and wouldn't have missed every high level target the last few years.

The status quo isn't a premiership calibre midfield, nor will it be so...
I doubt Pyke would let Birdbrain into WA.I wonder if Don will arrange any camps being the boss at West Coast.

Tieing brats up to trees...He works with children these days. I hope camps aren't involved.

In fairness all clubs protect their stars. Richmond-Dusty, Collingwood - De Goey, WCE- Cousins and all their druggies, AC-Modra.If Melbourne were aware Oliver had some demons (pun not intended), but still offered him the contract they did, then that's grossly incompetent list management. Then again, they did the Grundy trade.

A 7 year x $1 mill contract is a bit more than "protecting your star"; in fact you could argue that it takes all the incentive away from the player to get himself on the straight and narrow. I dunno, taking shots from the sidelines I suppose, but maybe the MFC has over-reached on this one.In fairness all clubs protect their stars.
