The Hawks and Bombers also had more development by playing in the VFLW, so it's not surprising that Port were the second worst team in the comp this year even if, on paper, they had more talent. A mixture of being green as well as Phillips being cooked contributed to that.
Wonder what would happen if she requested a trade to the Crows. Would the AFL block it or just force us to pay overs. Back in the early days, players were moving within Victoria and getting to their club of choice for very little. Brianna Davey moved from Carlton to Collingwood for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounder and late pick swaps. She was their best player, but she was moving from a grand final team to a weaker team.
If rumours are to be believed the Draft is going to be different before next season, due to the 2 seasons in one year it’s going to be a 19th year and over draft, so basically only a top up draft.
If you were alluding to Lauren Young in your post she still isn’t draft eligible until before the 2024 AFLW season.
Will be interesting how the trading period will work if any players want to leave expansion sides, there was a clause put in prior to last year’s signing/trading period that expansion teams could not sign 2021 draftees from the other 14 teams, I wonder if they’ll sneak in a clause that teams can not trade for expansion team signings/draftees in this next trading period. I can imagine they would not want a Hannah Ewings trying to get to her rightful home at the Crows straight away.
Maybe we can trade them 2x premiership player Hannah Button.

Port had that in the SAAFL/AdFL from 2010 (The PAFC/PAMFC merger also merged with the PAWFC) but they scuttled the team after 2018.
No sympathy for them when they complain about Essendon/Hawthorn having the leg up. They had it too, but decided to pull out.

You could argue to take away their outlier due to a unique situation.
Which if you did in isolation, they drop from #1 to #4
But if you're taking away Port's outlier, you must also take Sydney and Essendon's outliers (first ever home game) and Melbourne's (double header with mens final)

Wonder if it’s a deliberate plan by Geelong and their coaching staff that when they play a top 8 team they decide they are just going to play the most ugly style of football to just turn it into an utter slugfest scrap.
Also their forward line efficiency made the Crows’ look amazing.

I don't think they could really change it this year (although if no suitable venue could be found I'm sure it would have defaulted to Marvel) given it was in the rules at the start.
