North not winning their match early on is helpful. I still think they're the best team in the comp, so anything that lets us stay ahead of the ladder is useful.

Crows now set to play Hawthorn next week in what appeared, before the season, to be a fairly comfortable match. I certainly didn't expect to see Hawthorn sitting on top of the ladder! It's our first home match and Hawthorn's first match outside of Melbourne, so hopefully that will help.

Geelong somehow go from drawing with North Melbourne last week in a match they were unlucky not to win, to failing to score a single goal against Carlton this week. The Blues win 4.5.29 to 0.5.5.

Geelong still winless after three weeks. With Hawthorn, Richmond, Brisbane, and Adelaide all still to come, are they in danger of missing the finals altogether?

Difficult to get a grasp on the competition at the moment. Fremantle demolishes Essendon, and has a similar size win against Port as we did, but against us they can't kick a single goal. Brisbane gets smashed by North, but then takes comfortable wins over Melbourne and Collingwood, meanwhile North go on to draw with Geelong, who themselves can't kick a single goal against Carlton. That's Carlton who were fortunate to fall over the line against Gold Coast, and who got smashed by Hawthorn.

Much like the men's comp, it seems that most teams are going to be inconsistent this year, and so the finals are wide open. Are Hawthorn and St Kilda for real? Is Richmond a serious threat, given they've played three poor sides so far and even lost to one of them? Will Melbourne come good?

Going to be an interesting season!

This week is the start of the ridiculous mid-week games so some teams play twice in the same round.

There's 11 matches this week!
Will be interesting to see what happens with teams and how the games play out. Will players get rested or have lower TOG? Will players just tire out in the last quarter and the games get super congested because no one has anymore run in their legs.

I don't mind it, but doing it while the men's finals are still on is crazy. It will get completely lost in the prelim hoopla.
They are just pointing out on midweektackle how silly it is… Collingwood skipper concussed last night will effectively miss three games.

Richmond comfortably over Carlton, keeping them goalless just five days after Carlton kept Geelong goalless.

We don't play Richmond or Carlton this year, unless we meet them in the finals.

I was going to say it’s unlikely we’ll see them in finals but we saw last season Sydney get a finals berth on the back of a soft draw so you never know.

Richmond have a fairly cushy draw. Don't play us, don't play Brisbane, get to play Collingwood who are struggling bigtime, along with Geelong, Essendon, Port all still to come. They've already got three wins and are sitting on a percentage of nearly 200%. I'd be shocked if they didn't make the finals, but whether we end up having to play them is another story.
