So Harley Reid and Darcy can't win the rising star now because of suspension, that's a dumb rule they should still be eligible. The Brownlow states that it's the best and fairest so getting rubbed out makes you ineligible, but club awards are called the best and fairests but being suspended doesn't matter.

Is this the first time a suspension has removed the obvious rising star? Pretty much makes this years award completely pointless.

Corey McKernan won it and then didn't get it because of his suspension, not sure about before not often first year guns get suspended these days.
Did some reading apparently Dusty was ruled Ineligible in his first year when he was the obvious favourite.

It's already a pretty meaningless award but it makes no sense to take suspensions into the mix, especially these days where you get suspended for complete accidents.
