Melbourne and Geelong are both very good ....
And both very inconsistent- not just week to week but quarter to quarter. Are capable of playing some scintillating football before going completely missing or coming from the clouds when seemingly toast

And even though Melbourne beat us in Perth neither team likes to leave Melbourne

The Freo board are liking Bond leaving but I thought he was doing a good job. Their drafting and recruiting hasn't been that bad (Carlton and St Kilda are two prominent examples of the list manager stuffing it up), it's just that Ross Lyon has ruined their development.

Think this will bite the purples on the ass in the coming years just as much as committing to Lyon.

It’s great over there, they were recently just commenting on people leaving the Eagles because of our ‘cultural problems according to all reports’
Lel Freo you numpties.

They had a highly rated young player leave them just last year for Gold Coast - Gold Coast.

So any claim that we have a problem retaining players, especially now with one of their best players in their prime looking to leave, is always laughable.

I admit I’m a lurker over there, I love reading their board it’s just gold and suits them so well...everything they say comes back to bite them on the arse. Adorable.

Clubs shouldn't be given priority picks to cover for their own mismanagement

It's taken an eternity but the AFL finally has something resembling an uncompromised draft and now we have clubs lining up for priority picks despite having wasted the early picks they've had in the past
Exactly, it's the lack of development of those young picks into good players. These clubs need development coaches and infastruture not more picks to waste.
Gold Coast a few years ago had four top 10 picks, Ainsworth is a good young player but not setting world alight. Bowes is in and out of the side and Brodie/Scrimshaw are pretty much unsighted. Seems like these guys will waste away at a club like that.

God bless The Purple Faithful .

Every where this guy goes .

He seems to trigger a Cluster F***

And yet some of Faithful still love him.

Please lets all refrain from turning the light on for them.

It's the old proverb "give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime" or something like that

Giving these clubs draft picks doesn't help them besides a short term sugar rush, it's off field that needs help so the right decisions are made, particularly in the case of Gold Coast

Carlton have no excuse for their predicament- they are a well supported club with plenty of resources. No way should they be getting priority picks to waste on Blaine boekhurst types

Priority picks are such rubbish. Surely the AFL has a better answer.
Boekhurst was an absolute howler.

I think youre right but a lot pf the fixes are already in place...GC will get there. New: Coach, CEO, Team Manager, List Manager and almost all assistent coaches. New $25M facility, weather like Perth’s to die for plus more kids playing the game in Qld than in SA and Tas combined! Sydney got there, so will GC IMO!
