I just don't think we play a running game though... so what pace our players have tends not to 'shine through'. We are still very much a kick, mark, kick team. Hopefully that starts to change a bit

6 50m penalties, the AFL just enjoying ******* our game up don't they.

Definitely going hard on the protected zone 50s... But better players get it into their heads now rather than later in the year. Guess we'll see where it goes.

They are blue collar hard workers, not pure class like the Hawks or Cats of the recent past. I reckon the will do ok but I think the better teams will have their measure at the pointy end.

Agreed. They're like a less negating Ross Lyon team - doing very well to extract consistently strong performances from average players.

They had much go their way last year, especially their home ground run in the finals (fixed by the AFL). Their power comes from the contribution of their B-graders. If just a few are off then they will struggle. I think they will go deep but teams will figure out how to play them when the finals come round.

Yeah he's classy and tough at the same time. Just doesn't quite get enough of it. Carlton have done well with the WA players

He can also take a strong grab. He is exactly the kind of player we need at the Eagles. Shuey, Venables, Cripps would be the new Judd, Cousins, Kerr

I think the way to counter them is to either play the super skillful game (not sure who is capable of this in the AFL atm) or out-work. Problem is, many sides that can match that style in the midfield struggle to keep up with their rebound at one end, and forward pressure down the other.

If their power comes from their B-graders, many of whom are pretty young and inexperienced, surely they can improve with Dusty, Cotch in their prime?

But it's a damn long season, who tf knows

Disagree, this is a seriously good team that will be there again this year.

Remember the Qualifying Final against Geelong last year?


They get to play at the MCG 14 times during the regular season alone in 2018 - they are a given for top 4 (probably top 2).



They just break opposition with the weight of their pressure.

Cripps is the EXACT player we need. Strong inside, WA lad.
Fwiw, Captain Tich. Will score 125+ against the Pies.
