I also didn't disparage his record, just wondered why people give him credit for three GF appearances (and explained why I think it should be two). At no point did I suggest that two GF appearances was not a good record for a coach (although it's not credit that Simpson gets from many on this board).

I was questioning the hatred for his coaching, not the off field stuff. A lot on here say he's a spud of a coach when his record says otherwise.

If you ask the Saints players, I'm sure they will say they played in 3 grand finals under Lyon.

From what I've read, the Saints kept putting contract talks off and wanted to renegotiate.

It's Saint Kilda's fault he went to Freo at the last minute, not Lyons.

No one is happy with the current state of the list - but Simpson has won a flag and is not a complete campaigner so I don't have RTB levels of dislike of him just yet.

He is the pressure glue, but I thing they are well of the pace regardless. Freo by 30 points I suspect.
