I bumped the Trent Cōckchin to kick 25 goals thread on the MB as a joke when he kicked a couple snags on the weekend and it has since spiralled into multiple pages of genuine arguing. I can't look away

Fletcher comes clean….confessions of the Las Vegas incident. Back page of the Herald Sun Saturday morning.
Not yet.

That one's sitting at the bottom of the bottom drawer of the editor's desk, ready to be printed next time we reach a Grand Final.
It's in the same envelope as the next Daniel Chick expose of drug culture.

Just know it's all there. Ready and waiting.

Norf are getting one aren't they?

“I don’t think the history matters (of whether they should get consecutive years of assistance),” Jon Ralph said.

He said that Hawthorn opting to cull its list and West Coast’s 2018 premiership glory meant assistance would be off the table for them, but that North Melbourne continually being “blown out of the water” had skewed the competition to be “17 teams and North Melbourne”.

They should just be relegated and replaced with Tasmania. That's the best option for all, including their supporters.

Was mentioned on our board that a North PP was discussed on On The Couch last night as well.

It's happening.

Have heard similar as well.

Mostly along the lines of if North finish on 2 wins (i.e. lose all remaining games) they will receive a priority pick at the start of the second round.

Don't think the expectation (or tolerance) of the rest of the competition will allow for anything higher with Tasmania now due to come in.

Tell them to get ****ed, they already got some assistance last year.

They received assistance last year. That should be it. They got Clarkson (and we heard all about it), he brought his entourage in, they supposedly are doing “well” off field etc etc. The VFL has done more than enough for them. But as we well know, they (Norf) have absolutely no shame. When you’ve been at the beggars bowl for the near entirety of your pitiful existence like they have, putting the hand out for “assistance” is just second nature. It is really quite sad.

North gave the equivalent of that priority pick to Richmond in exchange for absolute spud Callum Coleman Jones - a s**t campaigner who had played nine games before that.

Helped Richmond trade in Taranto/Hopper

They should be banned from getting a PP simply for that.
Based on that, we can trade them Rotham for their priority pick.

Yikes. Makes you wonder what Cloke did to get belted before the siren and to also cop a penalty.

From memory there were people at Carlton who weren't unhappy when Setanta belted him

If Ben McKay leaves via free agency they might get quite the bounty of early picks. With us and Hawthorn likely to have historically poor seasons I still cant imagine North getting pick 1 as a PP tho, best case for them is they get a PP pick straight after their first rounder, but honestly I reckon the days of getting pick 1 as a PP are done and dusted. At least for non GC, GWS (and Tasmania) teams.

Almost on par with trading Jamieson for it.

Undersized ruck pick 20 in 2017, plays one solitary game in his first three seasons, gets injured a bunch, gets a 10 week suspension for breaching covid protocols, then plays eight matches in 2021. Averages about 7 HO a game.

Norf then offers up their future (2022) second round pick for him, despite having only won seven games in the previous two seasons. They then finish bottom again, obviously, which would have been a fun deathride for Richmond fans.

They then trade the priority pick the AFL gave them (second round 2023 draft) to Fremantle to get more spuds in Logue and Tucker, which I suspect Freo may have used to bring in Jackson.

Jon Ralph is an absolute dunce of a bloke in a similar vein to Tom Browne who is where he is because he'll tow the VFL line in the media regardless of how stupid his point of view looks.
