I don’t know what happened with Clarko and the indigenous boys at hawks but do raise an eyebrow at those who rush to defend him when he’s never shown himself to be anything other than a right a-hole in most ways. Certainly not the family first approach of a simmo and others.

Jokes aside, I have some genuine sympathy for North in all this, their club President, Sonja Hood, in particular

She spearheaded the clubs push to hire Clarkson who’s signature was rightly considered a coup as he was very much sought after

They had no idea of what was coming with the racist allegations and what a shitshow it would become.

Sonja Hood has also gone through her own health issues as she fights breast cancer

Now she and the club have to deal with Clarkson stepping away for an undetermined timeframe due to a process they didn’t initiate or are actively involved in. And there’s no end date for that process

I’m not going to get into a debate on whether Clarkson did or didn’t do what’s been alleged but it’s ridiculous that 6 months on from them being raised we no wiser as to their veracity

I feel for Sonja also but to describe her conversation with Clarko as the most raw meeting she has ever had. She’s playing the PR game and I’ve lost respect for her on that one.

She’s battled and beat cancer and has probably let thousands of people go in her time in business. How does listening to a coach who’s under investigation of some the most heinous allegations ever tabled the most “raw meeting” she’s ever had???
