Basically 5 years ago some lady on Adelaide Crows Pride forum said 'Go the Crom' after the win or something. A few supporters tried to get it going on and off for the next 4 years.
When we were crap last year it took off being regularly used on Facebook.
Adelaide Crowject Podcast have sold beanies with Crom on them at $25 each. Proceeds have gone to MND. I think they've made at least 5 grand for the charity maybe more. With that increasing due to the high demand.

I was astounded that the free wasn't reversed, was just utter bullshit and the only reason I can see it wasn't is coz the umpires were too scared of the Carlton crowd.

I find the current system for determining which team gets pick 1 as anti-supporter. The system that the AFL has created supports and rewards poor performance. And near every year it creates the controversy of Tanking. This is near the most hated concept that can be attributed to a team. My Hawks were called out for it before we had even played a game, and in the media just 2 games into the season. It felt awful as a supporter of the Hawks*

And yet the AFL continue with a system that makes that controversy inevitable. … And yes I know controversy “sells” interest … but it also kills a supporters love of the game. To the AFL! “Sell your interest by being good and not awful, those that love the game are going to get more people to the game than a controversy. If an influencer is telling you to find controversy, please redirect them to a job on only fans or Tik Tok. Just not at the AFL”


We need a system for getting pick 1 in the ND draft that does not allow a team that is struggling but finds a way to win games to be 100% penalised, we need a system that does not allow North to be awful 3 years in a row and for 3 years in a row get pick 1 to play with, we need a lottery system with pick 1 going to:

• a 50% chance to the 18th team
• a 25% chance to the 17th team
• a 12.5% chance to go to the 16th team… etc

OR

A bidding system... this is MUCH more complex but it has been preposed.

How much would a team give up for pick 1? Tradable things may be:

• other ND positions for that year
• the clubs future ND positions
• salary cap space
• a player (never going to happen)

Any supporter wanting their team to lose in the hope to make their team better is 100% the AFL’s fault.

Any arguments that have happened about this topic are the AFL’s fault.

Fix the system and we fix the issue. …. Hmmm… unless the AFL wants the controversy. If so, direct you dislike according.

Clarko stating that winning is more important than a position in the draft is great to read, but his comment that a lottery system will still have it’s detractors does not address the difference in the happiness of the majority of supporters.

Every system will have its detractors, the AFL should choose a system that has the least detractors. As far as I can see, the lottery system is best suited to minimise Tanking allegations and, more importantly, fans feeling like tanking would be a better option for their team.
