Charlie Cameron cleared at the tribunal.

Not because they disagreed with the MRO grading, that was upheld.

But because Brisbane went full on good bloke strategy saying he worked in the indigenous community, hadn’t been suspended before etc etc.

All the things the AFL said they’d be ignoring quite some time ago now

Now a players record is relevant again for some reason

So who's in most trouble three years from now? GWS? St Kilda?

Bulldogs.

They look to be in an entirely terrible position with Macrae, Liberatore, Treloar, Daniel and Bontempelli nearing retirement and B.Smith heading for the exit. Defence will need to be restarted as well, especially if Busslinger decides to move. They have the issue of Sanders being courted by Tasmania to be a foundation player as well.

Rebuild will likely occur at the very worst time.

Northern clubs will be insulated from the worst of the impacts of expansion through their academies.

And they go into the 2024 draft with nothing other than their own R2 pick and a R3 pick tied to Gold Coast in the first four rounds

"His 207 games suspension-free puts him in a very small minority … only 668 players of the 13,125 who have played the game at the elite level have played 200 games," Gleeson said.

"Almost half of those have been suspended for one match or more. Mr Cameron is clearly in the unusual category in this regard.
"

Incredible use of big numbers here to fool the esteemed panel of football geniuses.

Charlie Cameron is such a clean player, that out of the 668 players that have played 200 games - his peers - he just so happens to belong to the majority that haven't been suspended.

Powerful stuff Gleeson, a masterful gambit to be sure.

Weird.
Better not suspend him then, or he'll belong to the other half of 200 gamers that have been suspended for doing something wrong.

I'm sure Gaff tried the good guy defence to get 5 games and thus be eligible for PF/GF.
Didn't wash. (Rightly so)

Right result, wrong reasoning.

It was the right result because Lever was clearly staging.

The reasoning was wrong because "character reference" is vague concept.

I guess our players should start spending some more time building houses in Cambodia.

I don't think it is any kind of coincidence. Both clubs bottomed out with wooden spoons in 09 and 10, both won the premierships from 17-20, it makes sense that they are also bottoming when we are. The only reason they are a bit behind us in rock bottom is better durability to players.

From this point of view Richmond might give us a glimpse into the alternate reality of us avoiding our injury crisis. It could turn out to be a blessing that we were forced to go rock bottom early and start picking up top talent, as I think we'll be back competing well before them.
Definitely was a blessing in disguise, going to be a tough rebuild either way but we should be on the rise before tassie comes in at least. Without the shitshow that was the last 2 years we wouldn't have Reid, who very well could have the biggest say in how successful our next decade is.

Tough round of tipping - lots of genuine 50/50s. North vs Hawthorn particularly tough.

Sam Mitchell knocked over the metaphorical Gatorade in the press conference this week so based on that alone I would expect the Hawks to roll up and get it done. Not sure Norf even want to win.

After the suggestions earlier this week about how they should've tanked for Harley I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't think it was worth a week but the justification for not suspending him after being found guilty is laughable.

AFL playing favourites again.

It staggers me that they don’t either contemplate or understand, just how bad the favouritism optic looks, it’s just a negative manipulative move and the AFL just keeps finding new ways to ensure the teams that they want to succeed, get preferential treatment.

They really make the Kremlin look like novices as far as interference, manipulation and outcome engineering is concerned.

I thought Gil’s tenure at the Bridge was becoming quite compromised toward the end of his time.
Sadly I think the Dillon / Kane leadership is going the same way at an alarmingly accelerated rate.

The vAFL reserves of Integrity is at a low level and the new leadership pairing are on a course to bankrupt the Integrity reserves of the vAFL completely.

In English speak the AFL and Integrity are antonyms.

Man he's gone soft.

Needs to be actual Gatorade bottles out of players' hands for it to work.
