From what I have seen the afl umpiring is a closed shop unionised gig. For exam only 2 can be retired each season under their cba. Coaching etc is jobs for the afl boys on steroids. The feeder comp - mostly vfl is far worse and is run by entrenched unaccountable morons.

Doctor isn't going to hear a broken rib, nor even necessarily detect one. But sure as hell can hear the air gurgle from a punctured lung, if they listen with their stethoscope. I had 8 broken ribs, all down my right side, (and a broken collarbone and cracked pelvis, and a delayed collapsed lung), and the ambo's said they couldn't detect any broken ribs. They sure has hell could see the collarbone though. Top two ribs snapped outwards, and I still have two lumps you can feel, where they healed. The other six broke down the side, under my arm, so I had floating broken ribs there, as each rib was in 3 pieces.

And that was the last time Briztoon went on the Collingwood board to tell them how to rebuild their list.

Say what you want about Crowley but he was determined, maniacal, and did not care what others thought of him.

Smart from Ross, and he's not the only coach to tee that up (think Smitch might have been the other coach to request some tagging tips) but Crowley played on the edge to great effect. Not too surprising then that we are seeing Windhager show similar traits now.

Coupled with the media crying for more taggers since Daicos burst onto the scene and I'm not shocked the umps are giving them some leniency.
