I like that despite us being turd and Adelaide being hyped to the Max over the pre season (mainly here in SA and BigFooty ladder predictions) we are only 1 spot under them on the ladder.

They are still way ahead of us in development though, we can't flatvtrack just yet... hopefully next year 1 or 2

How'd Vardy and Lycett go vs Gawn and Grundy x2 in 2018 finals series? I seem to remember they did well around the ground (at the very least kept the best ruckmen that weren't Nic Nat accountable) but got towelled up in the hitouts.

PF - lost hit outs 31-49
GF - lost hit outs 29-57

Differences being:
1) Lycett and Vardy applied heaps of physical pressure which negated the opposition rucks, not sure if English does that.

2) Lycett and Vardy didn’t have big contracts / salaries

Yeah but gaiz he's an upgrade on Bailey Williams Harry Barnett, who could only manage 10 hit outs against him in [checks notes] 33% TOG.

Freo's unpredictability regarding games they should win that they lose and games they should lose that they win is actually very predictable.

The best and worst cases are pretty wild. Like I know some of them are unlikely, but like Brisbane for example is best case finish 1st, worst case miss the finals altogether. With two rounds to go.

I think Don’s appointment was a good starting point, the preseason had optimism.

We have major differences of opinion when it comes to the former coach I would have been ok for him to coach the whole year if there was a real improvement, but unfortunately overall, it wasn’t there and respectfully was time for change.

I’m just wary we don’t get caught up in the caretaker coach bounce, we haven’t been in this position before (normally the coaching change is done at end of season). Schofield has done a good job, if he wins the role on merit after a full process, then he has my support. Do agree, overall the year has had more positives than negatives

If they lose one then they only miss if all 3 teams below them win both their respective games

Lose two then each of those teams only need to win one game to get past them

And Fremantle have the toughest opponents

I thought Hawks would drop away eventually but it looks like they are locks for the 8 now. Will be interesting to see how they go in finals considering the top 8 teams all have inconsistent form.
