At the end of Round 20, Freo were 3rd and almost two games clear inside the top eight.

We won two more games than Freo in the last four rounds.

The Essendon game really ruined them with their really tough last 3 games, though they were never going past semi final week anyway. They just aren't as good as the likes of Port, Geelong, GWS and Sydney.
