I’m actually a bit shocked that Freo posters don’t seem to be claiming that McGovern deliberately kicked Amiss. That was my first thought when I saw the replay, reminded me of the NN/Sandi ‘incident’

I thought the same initially, but now they're blaming Barrass for a front on push and the umpire for not paying the kick.

Forever victims.

He’s a huge out to be fair. Made it much easier for our defence

100% it did. But accidents happen, they can't seem to accept that - instead anything negative that occurs is because people are actively against them.

Man this whinge thread is going to keep me warm when we inevitably slide at some point in the season:

The amount of West Coast shirts around yesterday is embarassing for the sheer fact that I've seen bugger all of that the past two years. I've always seen a healthy dose of Purple in the community even across the dreadful 2016-2018 era.

F*cken LOL. Someone doesnt remember how hard it was to locate a Freo supporter in 2019 in the wild. Also didnt see too many of them out-and-about on Sunday!

Wait, is he saying Freo's "dreadful era" ended in 2018 because ... Oh my 😳

Or that it was dreadful because the Eagles were good? In which case ... Oh my 😳

Who gives a f*** what the purples think?

Things like the No Oppo Supporters thread just keep proving that we are indeed their Grand Final despite them constantly saying it is the other way around.

It makes for some entertaining reading I’m not going to lie.

Both Eagles & Freo supporters always thinks umpires are against them - we don't get the chance to attend many games as neutrals, so many people think that's truth. People only tend to see the "wrong" decisions when it affects them - only see the interpretation that fits for them

Watched Hawks v Pies in Adelaide - was surrounded by Hawks supporters whining about the bias umpiring "Free kick Collingwood!" every 30 seconds for no reason - the umpiring was fine - the biggest issue is the complexity and gray they have put in the rules.

To be fair if the weekend derby was the only game of AFL you'd ever watched, you'd be completely unable to describe the holding the ball rule to anyone else. Some of the adjudications were hilarious.

I imagine this could be said about a lot of games this year though.

On the plus side there was a score review in the derby where for the first time in a long time it actually reversed the decision I had in my head. Thought it it was a clear goal from the angle I was sitting. But no, it hit the post.

Haha sucked in Freo 🤣

Don't get me wrong - the rules are farcical - but the umpires arent out to get anyone.

HTB could - should - be much simpler.

Pet hate of mine you tackle someone over the line - and they had prior - it should be HTB every time - but its never paid.
(ie Kerr v Hall perfect example of when it was actually paid)

Reminds me of the game I went to at Marvel in 2018 where we beat Hawthorn by like 15 points

Some old geezer was whinging the entire time about every single fair call.
The people around me just started mocking him by saying things like: "Great call, ump!" "Right as always." etc.

He cracked the sads and left before the game ended and had a go at everyone who basically told him to shut up and you've had your time.

Honestly don't miss the nuffies who complain at the game about every single call. Especially ones who have historically gotten the rub of the green and feel like they've been hard done by.

Before last weeks game I recall seeing us in the top 4 or 5 for free kicks for for the season even though we were second last 🤷‍♂️
