No shame in losing to a team who are better than you.
Half backs who can run through the middle and kick it 60m are worth their weight in gold on the SCG, Farrell and Houston would have helped but probably not enough to win.

Wines is cooked as well. Amazingly I think they get more out of grandad Boak than Wines these days.

One of the biggest falls in influence I can recall
Wines was awful in the QF too. Beyond cooked. They need a giant clean out.

Zerg Hatcher has been putrid all finals. Can only play on the third best talls. Ratagolea…geez. It’s like we went and sold Callum Wilson for a second rounder

Is Brisbane any chance today? They have the talent but are so bloody flaky. I figure they need a fast start to win, put pressure on the cats early and build a lead.

They're definitely a chance, I actually think the flag is theirs as long as they win today.

They're also just as likely to be flogged by 12 goals. I hope the former Brisbane shows up.

It could also be one of those games where 13.4 plays 4.13 which Brisbane are just so good at.

They are a chance, indeed I believe their very best is still better than any other team in the competition.

But the void between their best and worst is probably the biggest in the competition as well.

Double travel won't help them either, although the pre-finals bye mitigates the impact of that to some extent now.

Geelong's system of creating a defensive spare is something Brisbane's forward line has been unable to overcome during the Fagan era. Rather than going down the same path with their usual gameplan, the Lions would be better off in getting an extra forward and making that spare accountable.

The Lions also struggle against small forwards that get behind the defence - which unfortunately for them is most of Geelong's attack.

Brisbane will need to dominate around stoppage to prevent the Cats from creating outnumber situations ahead of the ball which is the basis for their front half gameplan this year.

Lions will need to take their early chances to curtail any momentum gathered by Geelong. Their inaccuracy has become a liability.

L.Neale hasn't trained at all this week. He's been in a moonboot and receiving injections pre-game for the past month to get through matches. Watch for Dangerflog to stamp on Neale's left foot during early proceedings of the match.

Unless C.Rayner and E.Hipwood can turn around their horrific finals records and Fagan gets creative, I don't see Brisbane being able to overcome Geelong and make consecutive Grand Finals.

Killer jumper clash at the Freo/Melb W right now.

Purple/pink vs Blue/red. Feel like Melbourne need a more all red jumper, looks ok when seen from behind, but an absolute mess front on

I don’t trust them to, and not even sure they can (plus it is breezy in Melb today) - but if Brisbane can convert at 50-60% I think they win
