I like JB. He's at least conscious of his biases and tries to check himself. Ling and Darcy are mind numbing though. I don't mind Carey and Richo.

By and large, Richo knows what he's talking about. But he isn't a great commentator. Takes forever to say what he's saying and he's dull. A little harsh and not his fault. And he is nowhere near the worst. But he isnt made for live commentating. He'd be great on a panel show though.

Speaking of, its time to tap Bruce and Lethal on the shoulder. They are both well past it.
Im rather over Healy, Brown and Dermie too.

We really need to find some more quality callers in this country.

Nah, I like Richo. He's thoughtful. I'm over Dwayne - voice is forever monotone. I don't know how he got a gig. I don't mind Bruce but Dunstall is highly annoying. Same with Brown and Dermott. I don't mind Basil. He seems classic sportscaster.

Agree on Richo. but feel he's better on a tv show (he'd be pretty good opposite Whately on 360) over live games.
I dont think live games need that much insight. tell me who is on the bench, injury updates, etc, or the conditions at ground level. Thats it.

I like Whately's insight and fairness too. Barrett's redaction about his Hodge comments today reeked of a sycophant who knows a powerful media voice/opinion is on its way. It was both great and speedy.

Good: Speed, Papalia?, Huddo, Dermy, Riewoldt
Okay sometimes: Dal Santo, Eddie, Mooney, King
Trash: Healy, Derrrrrrrwayne

The rest haven't really made an impression on me.

It seems that it's the producers at Ch7 who are/require trash. Generally speaking if you get the same commentators elsewhere they are much better which suggests they are getting direction to be trash.

He was not happy when I started ribbing him about Saturday nights.

Occasionally does saturday night and sunday games (he did our second match vs collingwood last year and the swans v saints night game)

Very underrated caller.
