Just realised Colyer's played every game this year. Has he been okay, or Freo simply don't have anyone better?

Just watched the finals 2 minutes of the Cats vs Demons game. In regard to Close punching the ball, did that happen before or after the umpire blew the whistle for the OOB free? It seemed very tight. If it occurred before, then it could be argued that Close did not know where the boundary line was and he was punching the ball away from competing Demons players. In any case, I was glad to see Melbourne win!

The fact is the free kick Geelong got for insufficient intent that lead to Guthrie kicking out on the full was pretty ordinary as well and most likely cost Geelong the game but the biggest blunder was Stanley simply running back to the square and leaving Gawn to have a small run at the footy. I agree I think Close was a bit unlucky. He was just attacking the ball like you do in the final minute. I doubt he knew exactly where the line was or had time to think I best hit this into the empty stand.
