Speaking of expert fan advice, I remember a game early 2000s, down on the boundary in the old Olympic Stand, ball down the other end. Some peanut sitting next to me screamed out to Hirdy, who was probably 30 metres out from goal, and when he actually looked over, was told by old mate in the stands to get back to the goal square.

I feel like it takes a lot more effort to lock down and defend with intensity now the rules have changed. Teams can do it but not all the time. It takes too much toll. That’s why momentum swings are so hardcore, and why week to week teams can present very differently.

Richmond got a massive rev at half time I reckon.. and suddenly it’s on

This surge started before half time. They were on top from about midway through second, just couldn't get reward.

I know Ambrose is currently injured but he would have been a worthy and effective part of a package for Dunkley last year, they’re getting minced by Riewoldt and Lynch in the air who generally don’t even take that many contested marks

Bucks going full coward at the selection table. Gotta squeeze out the kids so Mayne and De Goey can come back in and spud it up

Very interesting discussions about Buckley on SEN which seems to have been polluted by Whitley's man crush.

The suggestion that another club would pursue him is almost laughable.

Said it before but has there ever really been a point at which he has realised the potential of one of the 2 premiership quality lists he had?

1 premiership for the side he inherited and then the list that probably wasn't legally put together would be the bare minimum.

Then I listen to K Cornes rationalising the re-appointment because he's better than any new coach that could replace him. Any incumbent is better than any new coach almost by definition.

The rationale has become perverse.

Bucks is cooked and I think he knows it.

Footscray have bottled the sh*t out of this second half.

One of those games where they were never in control. Scoreboard was wrong for so much of the game.

I'd be interested to see where that game goes if Martin plays and dunks and English were in.

Don't know if I agree with never in control. For the first quarter and a half they were.

Lost the game in the air so I dare say both would have helped. Schache is a wet noodle
